But there are some games that have an absolutely exorbitant value, most of them retro and with a high price for the most demanding collectors.

Tetris for Mega Drive

You might think that the Tetris is everywhere imaginable and in all formats, but there is one in particular that is especially expensive, and it is the Tetris that came out for Mega Drive.

At the time it was a game that Nintendo had the exclusive license and never had an official launch on the SEGA console. The copies that finally reached a few players were because a development team ported the game, but without a clear license. It has a price between 2,500 and 14,000 euros.

Nintendo World Championships for NES

The Nintendo World Championships cartridges were part of a promotional tour in the United States and includes three games: Super Mario, Rad Racer and Tetris (again) and had set records.

Only 26 cartridges of the game were made, they were already for competitions, so each of the copies is highly priced and have an estimated value of between 13,000 and 70,000 euros.

Birthday Mania for the Atari 2600

In the 80s it was a very novel idea and there are almost no copies of Birthday Mania. It has a price of up to 30,000 euros. King of Fighters 2000 for Neo-Geo

King of Fighters was a series of fighting games quite popular at the time, but the company that was responsible for its development, SNK, broke, but not before publishing its latest release King of Fighters 2000, but with very few copies available.

Wrecking Crew for NES

Wrecking Crew was a title that came from launching with the NES console, but it was not very successful in its beginnings and never became a game especially popular at the time.

In Europe it does not have such an exaggerated value, since it was distributed in Germany and Sweden in the 80s, although a copy can cost around 1500 or 3000 euros.

Superman for the Atari 2600

The “normal” Superman for the Atari 2600 was a very popular game and is therefore not excessively expensive. What makes it one of the most expensive games in history is a version with the words Sears Telegames in a yellow cartridge.

The closed boxes of the game can be sold for more than 10,000 euros, between 15,000 and 30,000, and even a standard normal copy, can be sold for about 300 euros, a figure that cannot be reproached.

Blockbuster World Championships II for Mega Drive

This game included a copy of NBA Jam Tournament Edition and another of Judge Dredd. Its value is so high, since it is similar to what we have already told you about Nintendo and was used in several competitions in the 90s. That is why there are only two or three copies of the title and each of them has a value between 9000 and 15,000 euros.

Super Mario Bros. for NES

If you had a NES at the time, surely you had the Super Mario Bros. but this does not automatically make you a millionaire. The really expensive copy is an Asian version that came with specially designed Chinese letters.

These copies were made for the Hong Kong market and were very rare. For collectors it has great value and can be found for a price around 22,000 euros.

Gamma Attack for the Atari 2600
