ICAI replaced IPCC with CA Intermediate (1st July 2019). IPCC registration is permanently closed now, So now students can only apply for CA Inter registration.

After this clearing entrance test, this is the first level in the CA course.

Students can register for CA Intermediate after clearing CA Foundation level or through direct entry scheme.

CA Intermediate exams held twice in a year in the month of May and November and students can register themselves for any attempt for a single group or both groups.

After clearing both groups or a single group of CA intermediate you can register for articleship/ practical training. After completing practical training and clearing both groups of CA intermediate, you can register yourself for CA final exams.

CA Intermediate Registration and Eligibility for 2019

As we mentioned above there are two schemes for registration –

  1. Through CA Foundation route
  2. Through direct entry route

Eligibility criteria for foundation route students and direct entry route students are given below

CA Intermediate Eligibility Criteria for 2019

Eligibility for CA Intermediate course is as follow

  1. Eligibility for Foundation route students
  • Students who have passed the CA Foundation examination.
  • Students who have passed the CPT examination.
  • Students who have already done the CA Intermediate exam registration
  1. Eligibility for direct entry route students
  • If any student secured aggregate 55 % marks aggregate in graduation or post graduation (commerce stream) can apply for ICAI intermediate registration.
  • If any student secured an aggregate 60 % marks graduation or post graduation (other streams) can apply for registration.
  • Students who have cleared the intermediate level of ICSI.
  • Students have appeared in Final year (graduation/post-graduation) can apply for registration through provisional registration.

Students who have registered themselves through provision registration have to submit satisfactory proof of having passed the graduation.

If the student is eligible then he can apply for registration through ICAI portal.

CA Intermediate Registration Online Process for 2019

Step by step CA Intermediate course registration process is given below

  • Go to the ICAI website (icai.org)
  • Click on students tab > course registration column
  • Click on the course registration form
  • Enter your user id and password (which you have created during foundation registration)
  • If you are from direct entry route, then create a new user id and password
  • After this, you will get an OTP for details verification
  • Enter OTP
  • Now your account is created and you can fill other pending details
  • After this make payment of registration fees (using online banking/ credit card/ debit card)
  • Direct entry route students cannot select a single group, they have to make payment of both groups
  • After making a payment you will get a Pdf file
  • Download it and attach documents with it

After this students have to submit this pdf to the regional office center within 7 days

Document Required for CA Inter Registration

For Foundation Route Students

  • Attested copy of 12th class mark sheet (issued by the respective board)
  • Latest colored photograph (affix on CA Intermediate registration form)
  • If the student is foreigner then he has to submit an attested copy of proof of nationality
  • Attested copy of proof of special category certificate (i.e OBC)

For Direct Entry Route Students

  • Attested copy of graduation/ post-graduation mark sheet or intermediate level examination mark statement of ICWAI/ ICSI.
  • Latest colored photograph (affix on the registration form)
  • If the student is foreigner then he has to submit an attested copy of proof of nationality
  • Attested copy of proof of special category certificate (i.e OBC)

After completion of CA inter registration, you will get the study at your registered address.

You need to pay CA inter registration fees, articlship fees, students activity fees (when you register for both groups), and AICITSS fees at the time of registration.

CA Intermediate Registration Letter

After registration, you will get a registration letter within 30 to 40 days.

You can also download the registration letter online by following this process

  • Go to ICAI website
  • Click on E-services (on the top of the right side)
  • Click on reprint letter
  • Fill the required details

How to Check CA Intermediate Registration Status

You check your registration status by two methods.

  • If you are able to download your registration letter it means your registration is successfully done
  • If you have got the registration confirmation mail, it means your registration is successfully done
