When it comes to “pattern” or “stick alignment,” different people have different choices. Some people want to follow each approach and stick to what they think is best for them. Some people want to follow a universal approach and make their preferences universal. For transmitters, the most common method is mode 2. So in this article, we’ll learn how to change frsky Taranis mode 1 to mode 2.

Although the most widely used configuration is mode 2 (which is entirely up to personal preference), many transmitters coming out of the factory are mode 1, so you need to change mode 1 to mode 2 for anyone who needs it. If you think vogue 3 is more suitable for you, stick to vogue 3. As I said, it’s all about personal preferences and it’s impossible for others to know what’s best for you. You have to find it yourself.

It is very easy to change mode 1 to mode 2 in all transmitters and the steps are almost the same for most transmitters. In this tutorial, we’ll do it on a Taranis. All you need to change frsky Taranis mode 1 to mode 2 is a screwdriver. Let’s get started.

Step 1: protect everything and position switches

One of the important things to keep going is to make sure that once you change frsky Taranis mode 1 to mode 2 switches are not reversed. The switch Se and SG are between the two halves of Taranis, and there is a chance that the position of the switch will be reversed when you put it back. Therefore, stick the switch to the back of the enclosure or mark the switch with tape or marker to indicate the switch position.

Step 2: open Taranis’ box

First, we need to open Taranis by removing the screws that hold the two halves together. There are six screws that hold the two halves together. Loosen the screws with a star shaped screwdriver. Reference picture.

Once you’ve loosened all six screws, it’s time to split them. There are some ribbon cables between the half, so you need to open it carefully. Press gently with your hand and pull the bracket with your hand to make it two-thirds thick at the top. There is no ribbon cable at the top and it is safe to separate it from the top.

Now gently put the two halves of Taranis together as if you were opening a textbook. There was no glue to hold the two halves together, and there was no cable at the top. It doesn’t pass, so it may be the se and SG switches. Try to tilt the switch and the box will open.

Once you open the Taranis case, you can separate the ribbon cable or leave it as it is. If you don’t touch the ribbon cable, make sure you do everything carefully. If you try to take half of it, it will damage the ribbon cable. So, it’s safer to separate the ribbon cables and put them back after you’ve made the changes from frsky Taranis mode 1 to mode 2

Step 3: loosen the spring screw

If you look at the back of the frame, you’ll see a lot of screws. Two of the screws are used to loosen or tighten the gimbals, in short, to adjust the tension of the rod. Find the figure and find the spring release screw. This screw is like a switch. When it’s “on,” it activates the spring and the stick is centered. When it’s “off,” the stick moves freely, and it’s not centered.

Mode 1 – the right bar will move freely while the left bar will have tension or center

Mode 2 – the right bar will have tension or center, while the left bar will move freely.

The spring will activate and the stick will have tension if you turn the spring screw clockwise. If you want the stick to move freely, you need to turn the screw counterclockwise until the stick moves freely.

Loosen the spring screw on the current throttle rod and tighten the throttle rod on the other universal joint to convert frsky Taranis mode 1 to mode 2. If you want to adjust the tension of the other rods. Close the Taranis housing and tighten the six screws to make sure that you are inserting the switch in the correct direction, otherwise you will get a switch error.

Step 4: change settings

After you make these changes, open Taranis and make sure everything works. Then enter settings to change the mode setting from mode 1 to mode 2. Now you have successfully changed frsky Taranis mode 1 to mode 2.

I hope this article will help some people change frsky Taranis mode 1 to mode 2. Again, it’s all personal preference. If you want to stick to mode 2, do it.
