Twitter is making some changes as it announced a new layout for replies. To make the replies easier, now it will use lines and indentations that help you to understand to whom you are replying and can also see the flow of interaction.

The app will also check the location of acts like shares, retweets, and reaction icons along with an additional tap to make things easy to track the responses to conversations.

Prototype App twttr

Twitter has tested out a range of designs with its concept software twttr, including, at one point, a version in which the user answers were more rounded like chat bubbles.

However, the version that’s sticking around the longest is the one currently making its public appearance on Twitter.com and the iOS software on Facebook.

Branching Lines

It involves branching lines which link the various parts of the conversation threads. The lines are more fluid than earlier, appearing as a lighter gray while adding Twitter’s default white theme. Also, additional responses are concealed under the “Display Answers” tab, which you will press to start reading through a specified line.

Apart from the branching lines, there was also something originally tested in twttr about the possibility of hiding Twitter’s engagement button.

Remarks of Twitter’s Head of Conversation

Suzanne Xie, Twitter’s head of Conversations said:

We’re taking all the different branches in all the different parts of the conversation and we’re making it so it’s all in one global view. This means you can easily understand, and get a pulse of what’s happening in the conversation.”
