As long as you have the expertise that you need to perform the job and can reliably meet deadlines, you have an equal chance of succeeding as a younger/older colleague in the same company. Freelance employees prefer to appreciate the freedom and lifestyles to work from home or on the go; or, as the use of the word “utilize work-life balance” suggests, to implement control over the speed and pacing with which one accomplishes work.
