Overview: Digitalisation had a huge impact on the economy, people, and the government of India which is what we’ve discussed in this article

We’ll start this article with a benefit which common man got from this internet revolution which came because of JIO. Before JIO the terrific and accessibility of the internet was not even close to what it is today and due to which we have seen a rise in the number of internet users in India it is around 696.77 million is a significant number. The Internet gave employment to many and all these social media platforms or even youtube have a huge userbase in India because of the internet revolution only. This was something that affected every common man or woman in the Nation, other than this we have covered how digitalization helped the government and ultimately the Indian population.

Digital Indian Revolution

This is not the internet revolution of which I just mentioned above, this is about the initiative which the government took with the name of the Digital India scheme. Various state governments and the central government made almost every G2C service available online to the public which helped almost every sector of society, for example, all government scholarships can be checked and applied for online through various portals like National Scholarship Portal, and state govt portals like up scholarship portal, etc for students, various pension and all other welfare schemes portals are there now through which people in need can apply for the schemes online and get benefitted from it. Not just G2C government also made sure to create digital portals for their employees as well like Punjab government has the IHRMS or the integrated human resource management system Punjab portal for the employees of Punjab government. All the basic services like pan card, Adhar card, voter id, passport, etc can be easily applied and tracked online now. So the point here is govt. made sure to consider every sector should be covered under the Digital India initiative.

The impact on government and the Economy

As we are heading to a technology-driven world, it was a much-needed initiative and expected to have a long-lasting impact on the future of the Nation. Digitalization made almost everything trackable and transparent and eventually leading to less corruption. Government has a lot of data that they can track and process on demand which is amazing for their processing and ultimately it helps the citizens only because accessibility increased a lot and we can get a lot of G2C services with our smartphones conveniently.

The government made a lot of offlines services available online to the public which increased the efficiency of the government and saved time and effort for the public. Overall internet and digital revolution created a different sector of employment opportunities for the Youth of the Nation and eventually adding in the employment but of course, the number is very small in front of our big population so we couldn’t really see the impact on employment numbers. The number of startups that grew in the past few years is just on the next level because of the rising internet userbase of the country.

Impact on the financial sector

In layman’s terms, the finance sector has changed a lot and positively of course. Today we can even walk on to a street vendor without carrying any cash in our pocket just with our smartphones we can make purchases with digital payments. Digital payments came as a revolution and it is still growing and preparing the country for the future.Countries aim to go cashless because of various reasons which we will discuss some other day, this initiative was one major step to achieve a cashless economy.

The banking sector made everything online for the users, people can operate almost all their banking tasks from their net banking apps on their smartphones which helped banks to improve efficiency and have better overall infrastructure, and end-users became satisfied with the convenience.

So this was the shortest form in which I could explain the benefits of the Internet revolution or a digital revolution for the government and the people of India. If you have anything to add then feel free to contact the author.
