Most brides would want a fairy-tale wedding. Thousands of roses, horse carriage, red carpet, releasing butterflies during the first kiss as a married couple, fireworks at the end of the reception, and other fancy and romantic stuff to celebrate your love. The problem though, not all brides would have an insane amount of money to spend on decorations for their wedding. If this is the case for you, you don’t have to worry of think that you would not have your dream wedding because you could still have it by following some simple solutions.
Look for materials around your home
One of the ways you could do to save money on decorating your wedding is to look for materials around your home that you could use. If you have some fairy lights hanging in your bedroom wall, you could use them to add some light and sparkle. You have some extra tulle fabric lying around? You could use them as a backdrop or to wrap your arch with. Growing succulents for a long time now? You could use them as centrepieces or a guest’s name holder.
Rent instead of buy
When you start thinking about your wedding decorations, try to limit your purchases since you would only be using this decor only once. Look for suppliers that are renting out decorations instead of buying them. Buy only the absolute necessary or if you did not manage to find a supplier that could provide you the decoration for rent.
Do it yourself
If you are artistic and you have some time to spare, why not try to do some of the decors yourself? You could even recruit the help of your wedding party. Ask your bridesmaids and groomsmen for one day to help you. This could even be a bonding moment for the whole wedding party to know each other well before the wedding.
Find a spectacular venue
If you would be having the wedding at a gorgeous manor or a lush garden or by the beach, keep the décor to a minimum since your venue is already beautiful even if it is bare. Let the lawn be the focal point or the foliage of the garden especially if the flowers are blooming and let your guests enjoy the sun, sand and the sea as your backdrop while getting married instead of erecting an arch that would compete with their attention.
Decorate with memorabilia
If you decorate with memorabilia, you would not be spending anything, but everything would be priceless. This might be a little risky especially if you are renting a venue but if you would be getting married at your own place, you would not have to worry about the memorabilia décor getting lost. Memorabilia decors are more personal and would let your guests experience your love story.
Weddings are costly but you could still save a few hundred bucks by being wise about your purchases. If it is something that you could rent or do yourself, opt for that choice instead.
