To achieve your perfect hairstyle glam, it is totally recommended to skip the more commonly used flat irons, blow dryers, and curling irons and head straight for hair rollers. Applying heat to your lovely locks might be the perfect recipe for hair damage, so it is best to keep clear of it. Instead, using tension rollers is a safer option, which allows hair styling, using minimal heat. The end result of this method is gorgeous, voluminous, and fluffy curls. It is recommended to style your hair using hair rollers right after your shower when it is still damp. Hourglass rollers are popular tension rollers, which are narrow at the center and wide towards the ends. These are the simplest and most effective rollers, to style your hair if you are a beginner.  For those of you, who are new to using hair rollers, check out the below step-by-step procedure to achieve your perfect locks.

Step 1: Always start with freshly cleaned, conditioned, and detangled hair. Make sure your hair is damp (not dripping wet!). Measure out a section of your hair, the same width as that of the roller you are using.

Step 2: Hydrate this measured section of the hair, using a setting agent from the root to the tip of the section.

Step 3: Wrap the hair on the hourglass hair roller from the tip of the hair until the scalp. Use a bristle brush, to smooth out stray hair and secure it firmly in place with bobby pins.

Step 4: Continue applying the above-mentioned steps to all sections of the hair. While doing the sides of the head, make sure to wrap the hair around the roller and hold it at a 90-degree angle, to achieve the perfect wrapping.

Step 5: Once all sections of hair are completely rolled and secured onto the scalp, it is time to dry the hair using a hooded dryer for 30 to 45 minutes. You can also use a hair blow-dryer if a hooded dryer is not available.

Step 6: Once fully dried, slowly remove the bobby pins and roller from your hair. You will notice your smooth, natural locks instantly. Lastly, apply a thin layer of anti-frizz oil, through your locks, to ensure the hair stays smooth, silky, and frizz-free! It also helps your curls stay intact for a longer period of time.

Once you have achieved your curls, you can either tie it back, use claw clips, or wear it down – the styling is completely up to you! If you prefer your hair to be straighter, either uses a flat iron or wrap the hair, tightly in a towel at night, before you go to bed. This style can last up to a week, with the appropriate nighttime routine. The great thing about hourglass curlers is that they act as a natural curler straightener with minimal heat. They have little nodules on them, which aids in the whole process by keeping the hair secure on the roller.
