PMAY or Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is a housing initiative, which was launched by the central government of India in 2015. This scheme aims to provide affordable housing to the low-income, middle-income groups, and economically weaker society sections by 2022. According to a report, nearly Rs.1.66 lakh crores has been invested in this scheme.

This scheme is divided into two sections-

  • PMAY Urban
  • PMAY Gramin

The Finance minister of India also increased the outlay of PMAY urban by Rs.18000 crore in November 2020. This initiative also extends financial assistance to urban residents through CLSS or Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme. This PMAY subsidy allows individuals to purchase their desired house at an affordable interest rate.

In this regard, applicants have to register their names on the official site with their category. Every year, the central government releases the names of beneficiaries through a PMAY list. Hence, applicants must be aware of processes to check their names on the list with simple steps.

How to check a name on a PMAY list?

PMAY list contains two segments, namely PMAY rural and PMAY urban. Both these segments can be accessed through the official website. However, applicants have to follow particular methods of checking their name on the list based on their groups. They have to enter an Aadhaar card number or reference number to view the final list and application progress.

However, only the one’s whose name appears on the list can enjoy the key benefits of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana PMAY.

Here are steps that must be followed by individuals qualifying PMAY eligibility to check their names.

PMAY Gramin List (with reference number)

  • Applicants of PMAY Gramin have to visit the official website
  • Enter registration or reference number.
  • Proceed to check additional details if registration number appears on the screen.

  • Select search beneficiary drop-down menu and click on search by name option.
  • The user will be redirected to a new page asking to enter the Aadhar card number.

However, if an applicant’s name doesn’t appear on the PMAY list, they can still apply for a home loan from leading HFCs to take advantage of attractive terms. The affordable interest rate and flexible repayment tenor can minimise financial strain.

These HFCs also provide customisable pre-approved offers to ensure hassle-free borrowing. Such offers are available on products like loan against property, home loan, etc. Check your pre-approved offer by entering simple details like a name and contact number.

Knowing how to check on the PMAY list also ensures choosing the right home financing solution for the long run.
