Eligibility Criteria

 As per GNDU guidelines, a candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree from Guru Nanak Dev University or a degree recognized as equivalent with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in aggregate. The applicants who have obtained 10+2 or graduated through the Open Universities system directly without having any basic qualification for pursuing such studies are not eligible for admission in the law courses. The maximum age limit for the applicants for admission will be as decided by the Bar Council of India and approved by the syndicate from time to time.

Which is better, BA LLB or LLB?

Both these degrees are law degrees. However, you can pursue BA LLB right your Class XII, and to be able to pursue LLB you should have at least graduated from a recognized university/college in any stream. Other than this, most people prefer to pursue BA LLB because they can save 1 year from their graduation course, and also because subjects are quite relevant to law education.

Is the entrance exam compulsory for law?

Law aspirants can opt for any law entrance like AILET, CLAT, LSAT, MH CET Law, etc. as in most of the colleges, scores from the entrance exams are required for admission. But there are many colleges in India that offer this program without any entrance test, just on the basis of previous examinations. Some colleges also offer their own entrance tests for the candidates seeking admissions to one of the best law colleges in India.
