GameCube is one of Nintendo’s best efforts. If you are a GameCube fan you may be wondering what are some of the games made exclusively for your beloved console. So without waiting, here are the top 5 games that are made especially for the GameCube.

F-Zero GX

Retro Review: F-Zero GX | Dracula's Cave

This is a game for Wipeout fans. It is the final entry of the F zero series and is set in a futuristic world of racing hover crafts. The game is adrenaline pumping and takes quite some skill to get a grip on it. It is indeed a rarity among Nintendo’s games. You can have a better experience of feeling the race on your HD screen by getting a Gamecube HDMI cable and plugging it into your HDTV.

Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes

Metal Gear Solid originally gained its popularity on the playstation console. Twin Snakes is a remake of the original Metal Gear Solid which was a massive success. This game follows the same stealth-based action-packed gameplay and has done the story much better than the original one. The dialogues are redone but the rest of the game remains the same. If you haven’t played it yet, you are going to be impressed by its graphics as it uses the same game engine that was used to create Metal Gear Solid 2.

Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem

Eternal darkness is often compared to the extremely famous Resident Evil. The game is ambitious and has some parallels with Eldritch tales as well. The game is divided into several chapters and each chapter is played with a different character. The chapters are set in different eras and different worlds. Each character has to find the book of the dead – the Necronomicon which is inspired by the Evil Dead franchise.

The Necronomicon ex mortis is the core of all evil and spawns insane monsters. The game is littered with cultural references like extracts from Edgar Ellen Poe’s works and many others. It is enthralling and does its best to scare the hell out of you. Instead of using jump scares, this game uses clever tactics like turning your screen off or displaying messages like “your saves have been deleted” making you think that your GameCube has been cursed by the Necronomicon.

Super Mario Sunshine

This game is a reincarnation of Super Mario on the previous-gen Nintendo console. Although the gameplay mechanics are largely the same, a very big change is the jetpack that Mario can use to spray enemies with water and to fly in the air. The game is set on a fictional island of Delfino and has various other elements like visiting theme parks, hotels etc.

Mario Kart: Double Dash

Double dash is a shift from the traditional Mario Kart experience. The game now features double racers that you have to control with one controller. The game has some very intelligent statistics that changes based on the different characters you choose. If you choose symmetric characters with the same height, your kart will be much more balanced than if you would select two asymmetric characters.
