MIUI 13 Unveiled With Many New Features: List Of Supported Devices
Although MIUI isn’t a great UI, we would still buy Xiaomi phones in India as they offer almost if not the best specs for your bucks and more importantly has way better custom ROM support than any other brand right now in the budget to mid-range segment(things might change in future). It’s not what a casual user would look for. Back in 2015 MIUI was so freaking smooth and user-friendly even on 7-9k devices. Xiaomi is plagued by success now. Just cleaner MIUI will crash the competition. It’s the first piece of software that gave us an actual wow feeling. iOS is boring, we don’t like Samsung’s old software, nor Samsung’s One UI (though it is an improvement over the old software). Stock android is too boring too but it is regarded as the fastest and most supportive version of android which comes with minimum bloat wares.
But MIUI just gives us a lot of bugs in the user interface. Yeah, it has some bugs here and there but for a lot of users, it’s worth it. We believe Xiaomi’s strategy from now on should be to price their phones slightly higher and in return gives us a clean UI experience. That way they can make more profit per device, and offer their users a hassle-free experience. MIUI 13 has been introduced by Xiaomi after a long wait. The User interface of the Xiaomi smartphones has been unveiled in China in an event. Xiaomi also introduced its Xiaomi 12 series smartphone at the same event. The new MIUI 13 is being referred to as an enhanced version of MIUI 12.5 and it will fix all the bugs of the previous version.
It has been reported that the new UI will deliver improved performance along with added features in the Xiaomi smartphones. The New MIUI 13 is coming with new system fonts and it is referred to as MiSans. While some of the other added features in the MIUI 13 are fraud protection, new widgets as well a privacy watermark. The company has also stated that the new MIUI 13 skin will be available to download for compatible Xiaomi, Redmi as well as POCO devices in January 2022. So let us get to know about some of the specialties and modifications made in the MIUI13 in detail. MIUI 11&12 had many options that iOS got inspiration from, like the privacy settings. MIUI had those privacy notifications which Apple straight up copied.
The same modification has been followed in MIUI 13. They should include alarm controls below the volume panel, on pressing the volume button. We must be able to toggle and set the alarm here itself. Also, they can make a minimalistic media player show up below the volume panel when you’re playing something. This should become a new standard in Android. China’s MIUI 13 features don’t mention during the global launch event for global ROM. Such as new notification sound, new privacy protection (protect clipboard, approximate location, file sandbox), MIUI+, redesign notes app, new volume slider, and haptic feedback. Only the notes app is added to the official Xiaomi website. MIUI keeps adding these useful privacy settings that help safeguard our privacy from the apps we would install.
You would never want to uninstall the themes app. Although you can customize the home screen with a custom launcher, you can’t customize things like the lock screen, notification shade, or the more subtle things like the close all apps button and clear all notifications button. Note that only some themes allow you to customize all the things that we have mentioned just now, not all of them. You can customize it by rooting, but your warranty decreases, and rooting is also way riskier than just using the nice themes app. Compared to the MIUI 12.5, MIUI 13 is much smoother and more stable than the MIUI 12.5, but you see, “fixing bugs” and “added fluidity and stability” are hardly upgrades, right? Isn’t that the basis for a good phone OS? And for those Mi Smart Devices connectivity, we’ve already seen on Huawei Harmony OS or Apple, not something new.
If it’s called MIUI 12.8 or 12.9 then everybody would be happy with it, just don’t call MIUI13. The MIUI 12.5 is perfect without bugs, and we guess fixing those bugs and increasing continuous smoothness is MIUI 13’s main mission. We guess MIUI13 did that, from what all Chinese media said in the event. We’ve had enough of crazy specs sheets, and we are just glad Xiaomi finally found the practicality and basic experience more important. The widget is still present on the 12.5 CN version, which was released in August of this year, but we loved it. There aren’t many features, but there are some system improvements, and a global version of the 13 is confirmed on the road map, with India devices included.
Anyways, great video for today, people favorite feature is the MIUI, and to get the new widget, you must download the app vault China version. The widget still exists on the 12.5 cn version which is back in august of this year but we do love it but anyway not many features but some improved system optimization and global version of the 13 are confirmed on the road plan including India device is in the list. Lastly to get a new widget you need to download the app vault china version to get the new widget similar to the china version. While the new feature of security was about those camera scans over your upper body as well when you’re using your face unlock, therefore MIUI13 minimized the scanning area just for the size of the head and other than that are covered.
On the other hand, the MIUI 13 china beta user interface and people experience is kind of good till now. The overall OS has become pretty much smooth compared to the 12.5 enhanced edition. The new OS has reduced people’s clock speed but yeah the battery efficiency has improved. Overall people getting a better experience. It’s something between One UI 4 & iOS and it’s cool. We hope that the new update will solve RAM multitasking management & stable function. MIUI users don’t want any extra features, Just want a bug-free experience. People used to call it an AdUI previously. As MI fans, we would not feel good about it because people’s phones had no ads. The introduction of MIUI 13 now Home screen and the whole OS looks congested with so many features.
MIUI 13 is copy-paste from iOS, but those are nice features, so people are not mad and they want the developers to fix the bugs. It’s a step to compete against harmony OS of Huawei, with a bit sprinkle of ala iOS 15. Hopefully, they add an option for people to custom pack icons or themes that are natively available in all MIUI versions. The Chinese version is the most stable. 52% Apps and 25% system performance is optimized in MIUI 13 and more privacy features that’s all about MIUI 13. No new animations no new icons no major revamped no new features same as MIUI 11. Although, the new UI has been introduced in China and it will be available for some of the specific Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO smartphones by the end of January. But the company hasn’t said anything about its availability in India. At first, the beta version of the MIUI 13 will be made available for the use

Earlier people had to suffer a lot owing to the weak privacy of WhatsApp and any user could keep an eye on you. You’d have to ask for their phone number as it’s the only way users are identified on WhatsApp. Sadly, the app doesn’t offer any options like searching by username or something like Telegram’s People Nearby thing or Briar’s Bluetooth connection. WhatsApp web was not dependent on nearby. Once, you can WhatsApp QR code on your PC then you can keep your phone anywhere, the only requirement is to have the internet on PC and phone both. WhatsApp can access your phone’s address book and check if any of your contacts are also on WA. Then you can ring those people via WA, i.e. via data. FB or IG are known data-mining operations.
Those companies have to sell advertising to finance their operations, so you cannot blame them. You don’t have to use their service if you so choose. Earlier, to get access to a nearby grocery store, you have to depend on Google maps or other nearby apps. It was a complicated task and you had to rely on the contact number of that particular grocery store. You have to use their website to place an order. If your grocer can accept orders through Instagram or WhatsApp, try searching in your app for the name of that grocery store and see what you get. In a society where people are getting locked in their homes more and more, for mental health or anxiety, etc, doing something like this is pretty scary. They will have no incentive to get out.
We are feeling that even for disabled people could be a way for them to experience things they can’t do, but this is the thing they are not doing them, it is just a simulation, and they could be less prone to get out of the house and meet people themselves. This is terrifying. WhatsApp is one of the most used and downloaded social messenger apps in the world. Developers of the app have rolled out a new update in the app and it will allow the users to search for a nearby business. The new update of WhatsApp has been the most awaited and it is also regarded as one of the most vital upgrades in social messenger. WhatsApp is owned by Meta (Earlier Facebook) and the nearby search facility will help the users to precisely opt for a nearby business without any hindrances. The new update is now limited to the beta tester of the app and it will help the user to easily look for the grocery store, medical store, electronic store, hotels, apparel, and clothing, etc.
In other words, it will work as a bridge between the user and the businesses and precisely filter the search result. Although, this feature has already been in other social messenger apps and but not all social messenger apps have such a huge number of users like WhatsApp. The new update has been made available in Sao Paulo and the citizens of Sau Paulo are applauding it because it will make their life easier. WhatsApp’s nearby search feature is available for iOS as well as Android users. The developers of WABetaInfo have inferred that “When you search for something within WhatsApp, there will be a new section called ‘Businesses Nearby’: when you select the category, the results of business accounts will be filtered based on your choice,”. In the past few months, WhatsApp has already redesigned the interface of WhatsApp business and the new interface looks promising.
The latest redesign in the WhatsApp business was introduced in WhatsApp beta (Update version 22.214.171.124) and it is limited to iOS users for the time being. On the other hand, Meta has bought recently inducted a new privacy update in which the users will be secure from being observed. The Privacy feature is introduced to hinder unknown contacts from observing a user’s activities like last seen and online status. This feature has been introduced worldwide and is available for both Android and iOS users. WhatsApp has introduced some of the most sought features in its app in the last few years. The most useful feature was the extension of “delete for everyone” forever which would be more useful if the unsent text would vanish after deletion like in Instagram. WhatsApp needs to bring some vital changes to its app.
WhatsApp needs to increase its video sending limit and to upgrade the picture sending quality. Because if we send a clear picture then it gets too bad, as in we can see the pixelated picture. Meta has already gained a lot of criticism owing to its metaverse technology and a lot of people are inferring that it will give control to the people. Absolute dependence on technology is always unsatisfying. The thing is, the new update will also bring a lot more users and the Meta will have control over more and more people. So in short, as always, the corporations are trying to monopolize an already existing space and make it out that they are the ones coming up with the idea. Just pulling it into one space where they have absolute control to their benefit. WhatsApp and Facebook have gone through some vital changes in the past few months and the biggest one is a change of name.
Facebook Company is now known as Meta (Metaverse). Meta is making it out that they are coming up with something new and revolutionary, However, everything they have promised, pretty much already exists within the VR community. Except not controlled by some large Corporations. There are already games, tools, and systems, where you can meet people in user, create worlds (through just an invite) with user-created avatars (literally anything you want), where you can hang out, date, play games, work, do art, almost anything. You can already have a Hyper-realistic Avatar standing next to some Anime looking Avatar and represent yourself how you choose to. Meta has been pumping a lot of investment in the progression of Metaverse (A virtual reality world). We can see how their funding can push the VR experience further and especially with the tech creating some amazing content, we cannot deny this.
While the Quest 2 is already an incredibly cheap and accessible VR kit that competes with top-of-the-range kits. But we think we’ve all learned many times what happens and is happening when corporations take control of something and the effect ethically, morally, and psychologically.
Being scammed on Android is so easy. You don’t even need to download apps, some websites redirect you to your SMS Folder, sending Premium SMS which costs you 5 Dollars a week per number to 10 different Numbers – imagine the damage on someone not knowing what to do in such a situation. Android, in general, is extremely susceptible to viruses, as being able to run any apk file directly without some sort of license means someone could create malware disguised as an apk file, and distribute it across the internet. There is a dire requirement of a period of assessment while it’s reviewed for every app until it’s green flagged for users to download, Google is so filthy rich they could easily hire 1000 reviewers just for this.
It sucks because the mobile brands’ firmware gets worse with time or just tucked away, while google just plasters its apps over like 3/4 of your storage by default. According to Trend security and other antivirus groups that monitor outbreaks the Joker malware has returned, and this time it was found in a variety of bitcoin, eth, and other crypto mining applications. The Joker malware has been affecting apps for the last four or five years. Last year too, Google has removed more than thirty apps from its app store. There are no official instructions, and there are 23 known apps that have been found so far, but the media (who is often wrong) says that you simply delete the infected app, however that is superficial advice since there is no way to know with absolute certainty which apps are infected.
Again this year the malware returned and affected half a million people. Pradeo has recently detected the Joker malware in an app and again the malware came into the limelight. Color Message is an android app that seems to get affected by malware. Although, it is being speculated that developers of the app had intentionally put the bug in the app. As per the current data, the Colour Message app has been downloaded more than five lakhs on the play store. Despite google having to remove the messaging app, but still it has affected a hundred thousand people. All of the apps that are infected with the Joker virus were on the Google Play Store but Google as usual has not taken responsibility for cleaning up this (or any other) mess that came from the Google Play Store.
Joker malware has affected millions of people from around the world via an SMS app. We don’t know why in 2021 premium SMS is still a thing. Who would willingly want to get charged small amounts of money to receive SMS? We are pretty sure there’s a better source to get that information/service. Not to mention that most of those SMS services if not all are just SCAM. Governments should just ban premium SMS services. Some of the malware was easily be identified by the google play store but this joker malware is very dangerous to compare to other malware because when hackers bind this malware to any application in a play store. The google play store was not detecting the malware so it was so dangerous.
A previous blog post by Google’s Android security and privacy team describes Joker as one of the most persistent threats the Play Store faces, with the attackers behind it having “at some point used just about every cloaking and obfuscation technique under the sun in an attempt to go undetected”. They also submit a clean app then after a few weeks add malicious functionalities in an update which is also using the obfuscation technique to go undetected. So Google can only really play catch up as it is not just a case of running a scan for malware because of the level of sophistication the criminal developers are using. There are plenty of SMS apps on the app store as well, but they need approval from Apple before being listed. There’s also no need to download them when the stock one works just fine (isn’t the same true for the stock SMS for android devices though?).
So, we just have to be careful about the stuff we download from the Appstore. Even android anti-virus isn’t safe on the app store. You shouldn’t download such anti-virus apps from the play store there are lots of bad guys who developed fake anti-virus apps where they occupied “joker” malware to infect the Android phone. If your luck is bad maybe they can hack your phone also. The play store is a landmine field of bootlegs of apps that were bad, to begin with, and you can never know which one is going to steal your entire house. Sometimes an unwanted ad can also cause serious malfunction like data and privacy breaches. The worst aspect is that all those ads were right in front of users without some level of mass awareness of their real intention. Imagine a tech scam happening right now that is so good that we will only be able to uncover it years from now.
As far as android devices go, the Pixel phones seem to be the most secure, since they can get their security update directly from Google themselves. The best form of security, though, is user judgment. For the same reason, you don’t download and run just anything you find on the web on windows, the same applies to Android devices. It is really hard to find why developers make apps like this, when they could probably put a ton of effort into making a good app, then sell it on the app store for even more than they’re siphoning (maybe a dollar or two dollars for the app) but potentially get millions of users to buy it and they’d be set for life. As per the concern of getting affected by the Joker Malware. You can follow some steps to stay safe from the virus. Never and ever download unwanted apps on your device, as we have discussed above that apps even on the play store are not safe.
So, download only trusted apps and those apps which are conventional in use. Stay away from third-party apps and cracked apps. Every application is safe if you know how to use it. Even apk files you download from telegram. All scripts are written in python mostly. All you need is a good script editor and check the source code after installing. Delete those unnecessary kinds of stuff if needed. Then you are good to go. Only go to websites you trust and only download apps you trust. Read the ratings before you download an app and see if the people are talking about anything suspicious. Free avast android antivirus detect malware but spyware nowadays comes with stealth mode feature. So for that, you will need a premium version of antivirus to detect such spyware. Moreover, if you don’t want to use any antivirus and you think that your android phone has spyware or malware then a hard reset can help you to get rid of all unwanted and hidden spyware or malware.
People might hate Google because it’s google thus try to avoid anything Google-related if they can. However, subtle siphoning is more profitable in the long run because, when is one more likely to get suspicious, some sudden big transaction you can’t imagine where from or a few cents that happen in the background here and there. We just need to know about the apps we download from the Appstore, a specific set of apps we always download. Because we know that we can trust them to not have malware on them. At least, we hope! That said, there are ways to ensure you are not downloading malicious apps that are going to hack your device. If you are running Adware/Malware/Virus protection on your PC, speak with your provider to see what type of Android/iOS protection they can provide.
This states that the app store of Android smartphones (Google Play store) is a hub of malicious apps and viruses and they are not taking any strict action against the restriction of such kinds of apps. You need to worry if you have any of those infected/malware applications on your device. Else nothing to be worried about. While, If you have any, then uninstall them immediately and backup your important files/data on your device, and format it. Also, you can check on your credit card statements for any unknown transactions.
