RiscoLightSYS II alarm system with new RisCONTROL

Here at Protec Security and Electrical we’re always researching and trying out the latest technology to determine what is the most durable, effective and reliable solution for our Perth customers. Our favorite alarm system, the RiscoLightSYS II has finally released the much-awaited RisCONTROL touch screen 8” HD keypad. This new keypad gives you the ability to arm, disarm, activate different partitions, activate user outputs such as gate or garage control, monitor detector status and choose a wallpaper for your new 8” touchscreen display.

Finally, after years of waiting, the new touch screen panel brings the Risco alarm system to a premium finish. The system will still require a standard LCD keypad for programming, we usually install this directly on the main panel or you can choose another location to have this located for a second entry point. Risco have a huge range of features to complement your existing or future CCTV system in your Perth home. Using Risco IP module (now standard with all our alarm system installations) you can use your phone application to arm, disarm, activate user outputs and monitor detector status – this is very similar to the RisCONTROL keypad layout.

Some new detectors to mention are the external wireless curtain PIR. This PIR has a very narrow detection range but also long range, meaning this works like a detector beam without requiring a reflector. The wireless curtain PIR detector has both microwave and infrared detection and can be adjusted using our cloud configuration software. I have personally tested this PIR detector and have found it to be extremely reliable for both windy, rainy and clear days and nights. This detector is a great asset to your current or future CCTV system in Perth. Most modern surveillance systems that we are installing may include human and vehicle detection algorithms to help you determine if there is someone on your property – using the Risco Wireless curtain PIR detector, you can have this detector notify you of an alarm event through the phone application and also through the keypad as a bell chime. The alarm notification can also be silent meaning no alarm sirens will activate, this gives you the ability to check on the status of your property with your current or future CCTV system and activate your panic alarm if there is a potential intruder at your Perth property.

The Risco cloud-based phone application are the best in the industry and are currently free. This will likely change in the future as the costs of maintaining a secure cloud-based server will increase for Risco. The current phone application is reliable with a lot of recent major updates. Some updates include the ability to add CCTV cameras to the mobile phone application however I recommend using a different brand of CCTV surveillance as mentioned in another blog post earlier this year.

Risco also have the wireless shock + reed contact offering 2 zones in one. This alarm system detector works as 2 separate zones for both shock and reed, great to locate on external windows and doors, this detector has manual sensitivity adjustment via dip switches internallyanda small screw adjuster for smaller adjustments to refine the sensitivity. The detectors are very reliable with supervision mode meaning the alarm system will ‘checkup’ on the detector every 60 seconds to ensure it has not been tempered with or removed entirely.
