This article has covered various tips to help you get healthier skin. Before we highlight them, let’s focus on the common mistake you must avoid:

  • Using Harsh Skin Care Products

sensitive skin has lesser tolerance towards rough or high ph level components. . Commonly, people fail to classify the harsh skin care products that affect their skin.

  • Preferring Too Many Organic Products

Home remedies and organic products are always a good solution but not for sensitive skin. One of the most damaging components present in such products is essential oils. Apart from the essential oils, other ingredients can also cause allergic reactions that worsen the skin condition.

  • Missing Out on the Goodness of Retinoid

Retinoids or Vit A are the most beneficial nutrients for healthy skin. It boasts new skin cell generation, stimulating collagen production, reducing aging signs, etc. However, they may cause side effects in some cases for their increased turnover when the skin hasn’t become accustomed to treatment. But this doesn’t mean you should exclude Vitamin A completely from your skincare routine.

  • Not Using Sunscreen Or Using The Wrong One

Sunscreens not only protect our skin against the sun but also prevents premature aging and skin cancer. So, whether it is a rainy or sunny day, do not forget to add sunscreen to your skincare regime.

  • Using Too Many Products

The more you switch products, the more your skin gets exposed to various chemicals due to chemical reactions. Not sticking to your normal and minimal skincare products can harm your skin. Do not get swayed away with fancy skincare product advertisements that promise a lot but give futile results.

Sensitive Skincare Routine

We have explained this routine in 5 simple steps, following which you can prepare multi-layer protection for your skin.

Step 1: Use Cleanser

Cleansing helps clean the clogged impurities under our skin pores that lead to breakouts and dull skin. So, start with a gentle cleanser that cleans your skin from its deepest layers without extracting your skin’s natural essential oils.

Step 2: Pat Dry and Apply Toner (Alcohol-Free)

You can protect your skin in multiple ways if you use a toner after cleansing. It tightens cell gaps and closes the pores that decrease external impurities’ chances to contaminate your skin cells. It also cleanses and removes the unwanted minerals of tap water harmful to the skin. Gently pat dry your face and use a mild toner using a cotton pad.

Step 3: Use Serum

Serums are the best solutions that target specific skin problems and work effectively. After applying toner, let your face get dry and apply two to three drops of serum on your face. Do not massage but tap it gently for better absorption.

Step 3: Lock Serum With Moisturizer

As your face absorbs the goodness of serum, lock the skin cells with a good moisturizer. It will keep the serum ingredients active under skin-layers and create healthier skin. Moisturizers hydrate skin layers and prevent dryness, itchiness, dullness, etc. If your skin reacts to moisturizing creams, go for a water-based moisturizer or gel.

Step 5: Sunscreen is A Must

Sunscreen is already greatly emphasized and recommended by all beauty bloggers and dermatologists. It protects your skin from various damage and skin diseases like skin-cancer and others. It is a skin barrier you should wear every day before stepping out of the home.

Important Tips

  • Use tried and tested products that are mild and do research about the ingredients before applying any skincare product. Even if you are trying new products, apply them on your forearms or other discreet skin areas to test them.
  • Use gentle and fragrance-free soap, face wash, and laundry detergent.
  • Use shaving foam, cream, or gel before using a skin razor.
  • Use slightly warm water for bathing. After bathing, gently pat dry your skin and not rub it with a towel or any piece of cloth.
  • Aim for nothing but only gentle cleansing products rather than using an exfoliating cleanser. Experts say exfoliation disrupts the skin barriers that prevent various infections and pollution, and the situation can worsen. You can better choose fragrance-free nonsoap cleansers. Use products with neutral pH levels.
  • Use plain moisturizers that contain no active ingredients for treating some specific health conditions.
