Devi Varahi sat in her chariot Girichakram when she concluded the war and got victorious. She was so roaring and offensive that the army of asuras got frightened to the core and ran away to save their lives. However, the Devi got victorious in the end by slaughtering all the Asuras.

This was a fight of Jagannatha Sri Lalita Devi; when she proceeded to the war, Goddess Varahi Devi supported her and helped her established triumph.

It is also said that Shri Varahi was named because of her look like a wild boar. She cleaned the elements of chaos from the Earth by defeating the asuras.

Ulsoor Sri Mahavarahi Temple History

To construct the Ulsoor Sri Maha Varahi Temple, a Trust was started in April 2006. The Trust was established during a train journey when some people were coming back after performing abhishekam for Goddess Sri Raja Mathangi temple at Salem. Then the thought of having a temple for Goddess Sri Maha Varahi was raised in those minds. The people wanted to establish a temple for the Goddess in Ulsoor, Bangalore.

This was discussed with other people, and almost everyone showed their interest. They hence started collecting funds for the temple, and in just a few minutes, an amount of rupees 5000 was collected.

This produced the temple committee with like-minded people that were responsible for all future actions regarding the temple. From those people, all the roles such as Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and members were also selected. This selection was necessary to make a hierarchy to maintain the temple better.

Several meetings took place, and the Trust was registered. All these meetings and awareness about the building of the temple got funds from all directions, and the amount was enough to start the construction.

Once the funds were sufficient, the search for land was begun, which was a bit delayed by the Trust members. As soon as they registered the land, the construction for the temple was started, which is still in progress on some parts.

As time went by, the Trust thought of expanding the temple by purchasing more land. For the same reason, the Trust put a request for the contribution to the devotees.

Now, it’s been more than a decade since the Trust has been registered and the temple has been formed. Since then, many people have become a part of the Varahi family, and it is still in continuation.
