What are powder brows?

Powder brows are the lesser-known alternative to microblading. Like microblading, this is a semi-permanent brow solution. But they are different in many ways.

To get perfect powder brows Mansfield has many trained stylists for you. Professionals use a machine or a hand-held tool to give you the powder brows or also known as the ombre brows. These machines are responsible for placing special pigments on the top layer of the skin to give the appearance of fuller eyebrows. The pigment used is called Permanent makeup (PMU).

If you already possess full eyebrows and need to add a little more definition to them. Ombre brows are the perfect solution for you. Instead of filling out your brows each day, you only need to spend a couple of hours every year or so to have beautiful brows. As the effects are not meant to last long, the “powder” will only last for about 12 – 14 months at the most. Some can even last for 18 months.

What is the actual procedure for powder brows?

  1. The first and most important step is to mark out all the points on the face. This is called mapping. For mapping, the technician needs to mark out all the relevant points on the face. Points such as the middle of the forehead, the beginning of the brow, the edge of the brow, and the end of the brow. Without this initial stage, it can be hard to do the job accurately. Any mistake on the part of the technician can result in an unwanted modification on the face of the client. An eyebrow that is not balanced with the other eyebrow can ruin the entire look of the client which is not desirable at all.
  2. The second step is to clean up the eyebrow. There may be stray hairs growing from and there or a few strands which are outside the line that the stylist just made. These need to be cleaned up so that the stylist can work comfortably. Tweezing is the most preferred method here as waxing can make the skin sensitive.
  3. The color of the pigment is important as well. A mismatched color can throw off the look. The pigment needs to match perfectly with the natural hair color.
  4. The final step is to do the actual powdering. The technician uses the machine to layer up the pigments to fill your eyebrows. The ends of the brows are given a lighter touch so that they can have a natural look.
