Chet Hanks revealed what it was truly like to grow up with Tom Hanks as his dad, calling his experience a “double-edged sword” in new YouTube video.

Chet Hanks did not hold back about his life in the spotlight.

In a YouTube video uploaded Feb. 15, Chet has shared what it was really like growing up as the son of actors Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson.
The 31 year old said that while he grew up very “blessed” with parents he loves, the unique experience was a “double-edged sword.”
“There’s a lot of advantages but sometimes it can be pretty weird,” he said. “I got to do a lot of cool s–t that a lot of people don’t get the opportunity to do. I got to travel the world, stay in nice hotels, fly on private planes and I’m very blessed for that. I wouldn’t change my situation.”

But he also reflected on how people’s infatuation with fame can brew a lot of “jealousy” and “envy.”

“My experience was even more complicated because on top of fame already being toxic, I wasn’t even famous,” Chet said. “I was just the son of somebody famous so I hadn’t even done anything to deserve any sort of recognition and that created a lot of contempt.”

He noted that after he attended the same school for preschool through middle school, things got worse when he entered a new crowd in high school and college.
“People would make up their minds about me before they even got the chance to know me and it was extremely hard to break down their walls,” the Empire actor said, admitting that this experience led him to get a “chip” on his shoulder and develop a “hard exterior.”

Chet added, “People kinda did f–k with me a lot growing up. It was never to my face. It was always behind my back in the forms of gossip or s–t talking.”

Holding a mirror up to the man he once was and the man he is today, Chet shared that it took a long time for him to learn that “people’s perception of you is only a reflection of themselves.” He has now “changed” his “life” and is no longer on the “self-destructive” path of “anger” and “partying.”

Chet, who recently faced backlash for his comments on the COVID-19 vaccine, also shared that his “hard exterior” was not just bred from anger, but also from being “ashamed” and “insecure” about growing up “privileged.”

Before closing out, Chet promised that he will always give the “whole truth” about his life in Hollywood and that there is “more to come.”

Matthew Stafford’s Wife Kelly Fiercely Defends Him From Critics After Rams’ Super Bowl Win
After the L.A. Rams won the 2022 Super Bowl, some started to speculate on whether quarterback Matthew Stafford would one day be a Hall of Fame candidate. See Kelly Stafford’s message to haters.

Matthew Stafford’s wife Kelly is coming to his defense.

After the quarterback and his Los Angeles Rams beat the Cincinnati Bengals at the 2022 Super Bowl, some started to speculate on whether he could one day end up in the Hall of Fame. However, Kelly didn’t waste any time tackling the critics.

“Can y’all just let him enjoy this?!” she wrote on Instagram Stories Tuesday, Feb. 15. “It went from Matthew can’t win, to Matthew can’t win against winning teams, to Matthew can’t win big games, to Matthew can’t win playoff games, to Matthew can’t win it all. And now…the debate on the HOF?”

Indeed, the podcast host and mom of four felt like this was an unfair call. “We shouldn’t be talking about the HOF because he isn’t done playing this game,” she continued. “If you don’t believe he is a HOFer..I can’t wait for him to prove you wrong in his remaining years…just like he did IN ONE YEAR to everyone who said all the things listed above. So let’s table this talk until he actually retires? Thank you.”

While Kelly didn’t call anyone out by name, there have been several players and sports analysts who’ve weighed in on this debate. Richard Sherman, for instance, made an argument against Matthew being a Hall of Fame candidate.

“There is no measuring stick that makes Stafford a hall of famer other than playing in the most passer happy decade in NFL history,” the cornerback tweeted. “Inflated numbers make ever QB that starts 10+ years a ‘hof.'”

Michael Robinson, however, made the case that Matthew should get the honor. “Yes, he’s a gold jacket. Absolutely,” the NFL Network analyst and former fullback said on Good Morning Football. “The numbers bear it out and now the ultimate team goal—which is to win a Lombardi, to win a Super Bowl—Matthew Stafford actually has and he was a huge part of winning this particular Super Bowl.”

While only time will tell, one thing is for sure: Matthew’s Super Bowl victory was a big moment for both him and his family—as seen through his and Kelly’s postgame embrace.

“It was kind of like a embrace of the past 12 years of our life. We’ve had four kids, a brain tumor, a broken back, so many things,” she told Good Morning America, referencing a surgery she underwent in 2019 to remove an acoustic neuroma from her cranial nerves and a back injury Matthew suffered in 2019 while playing for the Detroit Lions. “I feel like we both just like exhaled and really took in that moment being like this is what you worked so hard for. This is what we came here for. Really, it was just all those emotions getting let out.”

Mariah Carey Shares Sweet Selfie With Boyfriend Bryan Tanaka After Nick Cannon’s Public Plea
Just two days after Nick Cannon released his latest single, sharing his sweet, sweet fantasy about ex Mariah Carey, the Grammy winner seemed to respond without saying a word.

While Nick Cannon is out here sharing his feelings in verse, ex-wife Mariah Carey may just have a different vision of love.

Just two days after the Wild N’ Out star released an ode dedicated to his ex-wife, Mariah shared a peek at her Valentine’s Day spent with her boyfriend of more than five years, Bryan Tanaka. The Grammy winner captioned their Feb. 15 Instagram selfie, “Valentine’s marathon continues. Hour 23!”

And as Mariah’s Instagram followers aptly pointed out, considering the timing, there may just be a chance she heard the ballad from her ex-husband, father of “Dem Babies,” a.k.a. their 10-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe.

For those who’d offer up an “I don’t know her” regarding Nick’s new single “Alone,” he starts off with expressing that he “has nothin’ but love” for Mariah, his wife of six years. But he also acknowledges that she has since moved on in the years since their 2014 split, singing, “Imma keep my distance, stay in my lane / Cause I know you got a man, it’s a little too late.”

Not that Nick has exactly been riding solo, having welcomed five additional children with three women in the past four years, with another on the way.

But as Nick himself puts it, nothing compares to the endless love he has for Mariah.

“I’d been lyin’ / I say I’m cool when I know I miss it,” he sings. “I’d trade it all for the case / If I could have you back / If I could go back to where we started at.”

Elsewhere in the single, Nick also got candid about his personal life being part of the reason he’s decided to stay away.

“As much as I want you back / It’s probably better where you at,” Nick sings. “Cause I’m still running the streets / I’m still all in the sheets having babies / Models and singers and actresses saying they pregnant by me.”

He continued, “Have to pay $10,000 a week / I take care of my peeps / Now you don’t worry about when I creep / You got a man next to you when you sleep.”

Still, sounds like Mariah will always be his baby.
