Volte: Located in Worli, Volte was founded in 2009 by Tushar Jiwarajka and is renowned for its exhibitions, events and diverse multimedia installations. Volte is a must-visit if you are looking for an eclectic art collection which is distinct and reflective of Mumbai’s flourishing art scene.

Jehangir Art Gallery: A famous gallery located in the heart of South Mumbai in the Kala Ghoda area, Jehangir Art Gallery was founded by Sir Cowasji Jehangir and opened to the public in 1952. The gallery has two storeys which has stunning exhibitions by both local and international artists. You can also meet some of the artists here who are usually present during their exhibitions.

Project 88: Established by Shree Goswami, Project 88 has a boutique studio vibe since it is located in an old printing press in Colaba. The minimal gallery has hosted exhibitions by Bharti Kher a famous Indian artist and Sarnath Banerjee who is a renowned graphic novelist. The exhibits here are unique and exquisite, making it a must-visit gallery for all art lovers.

Chatterjee And Lal: One of the most renowned art galleries in Colaba, Chatterjee and Lal although enclosed in a single room, but has given a platform to several contemporary Indian artists to showcase their work. From live installations to photography and painting displays, the gallery founded by a husband and wife duo is doing everything possible to push the artwork of local artists.

Galerie Mirchandani + Steinruecke: Built like the airy galleries of Manchester, Berlin and Manhattan, Galerie Mirchandani + Steinruecke has showcased several international artists including Wolfgang Laib, Sigmar Polke and Kiki Smith. The gallery was founded by a mother-daughter duo who have also given an opportunity to several upcoming Indian artists to exhibit their work.

Gallery Chemould: An iconic gallery, Chemould has contributed largely to the growing Indian art movement. The gallery houses the work of progressive Indian artists including M.F. Hussain and S.H.
