One of the newest trends in nail art is mirror nails. They are shiny, dazzling, and pretty much everything a nail polish enthusiast could want. All eyes were on Zigi’s red-carpet debut when Gigi Hadid attended the Met Gala in May, which helped the trend gain popularity.

Both Gigi and Zayn were dressed up in all-metal attire, but the detail in both of their outfits truly stood out; whereas Gigi shined from head to toe, Zayn channeled a robot. If you hadn’t looked closely, you might not have noticed her glitter-coated roots or her intense chrome manicure, but upon closer study, it becomes obvious that her nails pretty well stole the show.

The futuristic fingers blew everyone’s minds, and ever since, a lot of people have been on the quest to recreate it, for hundreds less. If you are among those people, then keep reading this article to find out how you too can achieve the Gigi Hadid nails look

Method 1: Use a Regular Polish or Non-UV Gel Nail Polish.

Step 1:

Apply two layers of nail paint after your base coat. To help your manicure stay longer, make sure to spread the polish to the ends of your nails. You can pick any color you like, but black will make mirror power stand out the most.

While UV-gel polish is simpler to work with, conventional nail paint and non-UV gel manicure can also be polished nicely, but it will demand more effort.

To make cleanup simpler, think about applying liquid latex or white school glue to the flesh surrounding your nails.

Step 2:

When it seems dry to the touch, apply a top coat. However, don’t leave the top coat completely dry. It should have a rubbery texture, but not be tacky or sticky. This is crucial, especially when using a conventional top coat that is not gel; if you apply the powder too soon, it will mess up your manicure, and if you delay for too long, it won’t adhere.

For this, utilize a standard top coat devoid of water. It is advised to use a quick-dry top coat.

Do not forget to apply the top coat past the tip.

Step 3:

Use a foam makeup brush to dab on the mirror powder. Move toward the tip starting from the cuticle region. Either a foam eyeshadow brush or a specific applicator designed for spreading mirror powder can be used. As you dab the powder on, gently swirl the brush downwards.

Step 4:

Add the powder to the polish by buffing. Use the foam makeup brush to lightly buff the surface after powder has been applied to your nail. Avoid using excessive force to avoid making dents. The surface will become increasingly smooth as you buff.

Step 5:

Remove any extra powder by wiping. A delicate brush, for example, an eyeshadow brush or kabuki brush, or a Q-tip soaked in rubbing alcohol can be used for this. Peel off any adhesive or liquid latex that was previously applied.

Step 6:

Be careful to cover the tip of your nail with a water-based top coat when applying it. Many individuals believe that the finish of the mirror powder is damaged or cracked by an ordinary top coat. Fortunately, a top coat containing water does not do that.

Step 7:

Finish off with a regular top coat. Once you have applied a water-based top coat, you can safely use any other type of top coat. Unfortunately, a water-based top coat by itself does not last much longer, therefore this will extend the lifespan of your manicure.

Step 8:

Watch for your top coat to completely dry. You can brag about your new Gigi Hadid nails to all of your friends once it has dried.

Method 2: Use a UV Gel Nail Polish.

Step 1:

Apply the base coat and use an LED manicure lamp to cure it for 30 seconds after application. Additionally, some nail technicians advise applying liquid latex or white school glue to the flesh around your nails.

Since all you need to do to clean up your manicure is peel off the adhesive or latex, this will make it simpler.

Step 2:

UV-gel polish should be applied twice, then dried. After applying the initial coat, allow it to cure for 30 seconds. Then, after applying the second coat, give it a quick 15 seconds cure.

Do not forget to coat your nails’ tips as well!

Though you can choose any colour you like to recreate Gigi Hadid nails, many nail artists believe that black is the most effective.

Step 3:

Using a sponge eyeshadow applicator, apply the powder. Do not worry if the powder does not initially appear to be smooth. Start tapping the powder into your nail with the foam applicator. In order to cover the tip, start at the cuticle area and begin working your way down.

Step 4:

To softly buff the powder onto your nail, use the foam. Then, use the applicator to carefully press the powder into your nails after coating them with it. However, be cautious not to apply excessive pressure or you risk making dents. The finish will become increasingly smooth as you continue to buff.

Step 5:

Use a soft bristle brush or rubbing alcohol to clean it up. Take a kabuki brush or soft, fluffy shadow brush, and delicately wipe the tips of your nails. It will remove any extra powder. To clean the area surrounding your nails, you can also use a small brush or Q-tip coated in rubbing alcohol. Peel off any glue or latex that you applied initially.

Step 6:

After adding a no-wipe coat, cure the surface for 30 seconds. You can rock your nails once they have dried.

Conclusion:

Did you also wish to recreate Gigi Hadid nails but were left disappointed when finding out how much the manicure cost? You do not have to abandon your wish for a mirror nail manicure, because even though the exact Gigi Hadid nails cannot be achieved due to the manicure’s extravagant cost, there are cheaper ways to achieve them! Although mirror powder is often used with UV gel nail paint to create mirror nails, it can also be used with non-UV gel or even ordinary nail polish. All it requires is some time, some work, and a passion for all things shiny.
