Kurtis are an all-year trend for women. Kurtis are a popular fashion trend found in the homes of Bollywood’s powerhouse actresses and ordinary working women. From simple monocolored statement kurtis to flowy and shiny Anarkalis, we’ve seen Bollywood celebs dressed in nearly every fashion and style of kurti. Every year there are new kurti trends, and 2022 was no different.

A classic kurti has always been in the spotlight of any fashionista’s closet. This year saw the comeback of the long kurti. These kurtis are on the minds of celebrities who wish to go for a hassle-free, elegant, and comfortable look. Throughout the year, divas like Janvi Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Kareena Kapoor, and many more have been spotted wearing a flowy, simple cotton long kurti in front of fans.

Long kurtis made such an immense comeback that they were highlighted as essential during this year’s Diwali season. Bollywood celebrities went all out in cotton to silk, and heavily embroidered flowy long kurtis. With the summer season right around the corner, these long kurtis are a must for your wardrobe. Kurtis go with every occasion and look classy, elegant, and comfortable.

Chikankari kurti sets:

Yes, they’re back. Years of traditions are passed down from one craftsman to another. The Chikankari kurti style, which is native to Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, made its comeback in Bollywood when celebs chose this material on hot summer days while going out. Chikan work is a well-known textile decoration jewel from Lucknow. This style of kurti, which is usually heavily embroidered with a single colour, has recently undergone a modern adaptation.

Lucknowi Chikan Kurtis now come with added embellishments, including mirror work, beadwork, the usage of different coloured threads for embroidery, adding additional threads for effect, etc., to make kurtis stand out. Chikan kurtis are available in both short and long lengths and are made from the lightest base cloth.

Palazzo pants:

A western influence on the traditional kurti look, palazzo pants has gained popularity among celebrities in Bollywood and women in India for the sheer amount of comfort that they bring. Made from textiles that are breathable and very comfortable to wear, these types of pants can be paired with nearly any type of kurti – whether long or short. What’s more, palazzos come in a variety of styles, making it easy to mix and match the style that best suits the kurti that is worn.

Choker as an accessory to the Kurti:

This is one trend that took Bollywood and India by storm this year. Bollywood celebs were seen pairing their kurtis or traditional attire with a statement neckpiece. This piece was mostly a choker that was heavy and looked stunning because of the amount of handiwork done on it. Chokers that were silver or oxidized were the preferred statement pieces for celebs, and these looked exquisite once paired with matching earrings.

This Diwali season, nearly all Indian women decided to pair their kurti sets with a statement piece in the form of a choker. The popularity of chokers was like a wave in fashion, with even celebrity hosts wearing the piece with sarees.

This year saw the revival of some traditional kurti styles that have been long overlooked. The comeback of the choker in the form of a statement neckpiece as an accessory to Indian traditional wear was a big change that was happily embraced in India.

It is predicted that for the year 2023, there will be more old traditional designs that will be revived and adorned by Bollywood celebs. The forecast is for Anarkalis to make a comeback with different designs and materials. The probable revival of the Nath and the Maang Tikka as kurti accessories also seems inevitable for the coming year.
