The Lounge

After security, the Virgin Clubhouse in Newark can be found in a quiet corner in Terminal B. It is just a short walk away from the airport gates. The lounge is similar in size to the JFK one, and it fills up quickly as departure time nears. Although the decor is designed to look like downtown Manhattan, it still has a Virgin-esque feel and will be well-known to frequent Virgin flyers. The lounge has luggage storage.

There are many seating options throughout the lounge, which is divided into two sections on two levels. The Brasserie is the formal dining room. We then moved on to the Origami lounge, which offers more intimate and casual seating. You will also find couches, barstools, and a cinema area with reclined chairs.

Priority Pass Lounges

Priority Pass memberships allow you to use Priority Pass lounges with anyone you travel with, regardless of your class. Priority Pass is a great option for anyone who regularly travels. Priority Pass lounges can make your travel experience much more enjoyable. The app allows you to check into each lounge, and the availability and quality of lounges all around the globe are excellent. Priority Pass has been a great option for us over the years.

Food and drinks

All food and drink are ordered directly from the Virgin Lounge’s menu. There are no buffet or self-service stations. Brunch can be ordered between 10 and 2 pm, and dinner is available in the evening.

Food

Brunch options include soups, salads, and grilled cheese sandwiches.

The dinner menu served as our evening flight, with a variety of starters and mains. Desserts were also available. Starters included soup, calamari and chicken wings, as well as salad. Mains included salad, fish and chicken, along with a burger, vegetarian curry, and a meat option. Trifle, tarte, fruit salads, cheese, and sorbet were all available for dessert. For young flyers, there were Mac and Cheese and Ice Cream.

There were also snacks like olives, cookies, peanuts and popcorn.

We were lucky to be able to catch the Clubhouse at the right time, but the dinner service was hilarious for us as well as the diners around us. For diners who were in the same group, identical courses were served 20 minutes apart. Many orders were misplaced or mixed up. Although the food arrived on time, it was quite good. However, it took nearly 2 hours to finish mains and starters. There was no explanation and no apology.

Drinks

Two craft beers are included in the menu (Sweetwater Brewing Co. Extra Pale Ale and Anchor Brewery Co Anchor Stream are two of the available brews.

The extensive cocktail menu includes BlackTail cocktails, which are created by the owners of NYC’s Dead Rabbit. This bar is often referred to as the best bar in the world. The speciality is Gin, and you can find a wide range of gin-based cocktails.

Spa and Showers

The Newark Clubhouse has two shower rooms, but it does not have a Spa (the JFK Clubhouse does, if you’re deciding between the two).

Showers

With their sleek decor and Bumble & Bumble products, the shower rooms were a delight. The shower rooms were clean and spacious, which was a welcome relief after a long day in NYC and the possibility of an overnight flight. There were towels and products for hair and body.
