There are many ways to increase traffic to your blog. But some are of course more effective than others. Today we look at the five most effective methods.

1. Link Exchange

Link exchange is exactly what it sounds like. Exchanging links with another website. Great caution is now required. While search engines aren’t “smart,” they pay close attention to which links count as valid links or just another link to trick them. This is why Twitch Viewer Bot I always tell people that you want to exchange links with related sites instead of the first available site. If you have a political blog, you don’t want to link swap with an autoblog or vice versa. A backlink is much better (because it’s a one-way link), but two-way links (e.g. link exchanges) only work if the sites are connected. There are many websites to join to find people interested in link exchanges.

2. Backlink

backlink is a link from another website to yours. The more of these links you have, the more your popularity with the search engines will increase. Developing a good backlink campaign is essential for this to work, as three or four backlinks is not enough. I would suggest setting a goal of at least 1,000 backlinks in three months. This takes commitment, but it’s a surefire way to build your site’s SEO, which will inevitably lead to more organic traffic.

3. Networking

The whole idea of blogging grew around the idea of people sharing important information. Unfortunately, this idea has almost been lost in the blogging world. But it’s still true. One of the best ways to increase traffic to your blog is to build a network of bloggers. Try to find bloggers whose content is related to yours and offer to network with them. Basically, the members of this blog network exchange ideas, offer trackbacks to interesting things on each other’s blogs, etc. Not only will this help increase traffic, but if a Google or Live.com bot comes up, they will notice the links in the blog network and use that as a reason to boost your SE rankings.

4. Social Media

Social media has picked up where blogs left off. While many features are exciting in social media, most of the concepts have been around in the blogging world for years. Therefore, it is very important to build a good presence on social networks. I would say start with social bookmarking sites first and then move on. One of the best sites to get significant traffic is a site like stumbleupon.com. Although the service has been exploited in recent months (particularly through pointless stumbling), it’s still a very good way to find related websites, thereby driving traffic to your blog.

5. Advertising

campaigns: These will require more money than time. But its payout is great. While it’s unrealistic to think about showing ads on sites like MSN, Facebook, MySpace, MSNBC, etc., finding smaller sites that get a lot of traffic will help a lot. I would suggest joining some webmaster forums and looking at some of the posts from those who sell commercials. However, pay close attention to how many unique visitors they’re getting per day, CTR (rate at which most visitors click an ad), total page views per day, etc. In general, expect to get between $80 and $140 Paying dollars a month for a good commercial on a site that gets decent/excellent traffic.

There are many other ways, but these are some of the most proven techniques to increase traffic. One final piece of advice, the field of blogging is a trial and error process. Striving for success in a few days or weeks will not bring it. But developing a good plan and sticking to it is the best solution.
