Eligibility criteria: 

There are different eligibility criteria that are dependent on the educational background and work experience of a candidate. So, let’s each one of them: 

Temporary Graduate

You must complete an Australian Bachelor’s degree or higher. In addition, your degree needs to be an ICT major and closely relevant to the chosen occupation. It’s not mandatory for you to have worked in the field. 

Post Australian Study Skills assessment

You need to have an Australian bachelor’s degree or higher. The Australian qualification has to be an ICT major and closely relevant to the chosen occupation. You also need to complete 1 year of related post-study work experience or  the ACS Professional Year program. 

Skills

If having a bachelor’s degree or higher closely related to your occupation, and it is an ICT major: 

Show 2 years or related work experience in the last 10 years. Or, you need to show 4 years of relevant work experience anytime in the past. 

In the case of having a bachelor’s degree or higher not closely related to the chosen occupation. Besides that, it is an ICT major: 

Show 4 years of related work experience you earned anytime in the past. 

If having a bachelor’s degree or higher closely related to the chosen occupation and an ICT minor: 

Show 5 years of related work experience in the last 10 years. Or, you need to show 6 years of related work experience earned anytime in the past. 

In the case of having a bachelor’s degree or higher not closely related to your occupation. In addition, it is an ICT minor: 

You have to show 6 years of related work experience you earned anytime in the past. 

In the case of having a Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree closely related to your occupation. Besides that, it is an ICT major: 

Demonstrate 5 years of related work experience in the last 10 years. Or, show 6 years of related work experience you earned anytime in the past. 

If with a Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate degree not closely related to the occupation. Aside from that, it is an ICT major: 

Show 6 years of related work experience you acquired anytime in the past. 

RPL

If having a non-ICT Diploma or higher, demonstrate 6 years of related work experience. Aside from that, provide the authority with a successful RPL application. 

In the case of not having any tertiary qualification, demonstrate 8 years of related work experience. In addition, achieve a positive RPL application. 

For a successful RPL, convincingly demonstrate how you earned your ICT knowledge. For this, you have to write two project reports. The report must be with details about your career episode. In addition, it must show your ICT knowledge in a working situation. 

Eligible work experience: 

Your employment must fulfill the following criteria to be eligible: 

Your job must be a paid one. 

You need to work a minimum of 20 hours per week. 

Your employment must be post-qualification. 

Thus, volunteering or research work that is completely on the basis of a thesis will be unacceptable as work experience. 

5 Steps for ACS skills assessment: 

The following are the five steps for ACS Migration skills assessment: 

 

Step-1: Match your occupation

First, make sure your ICT occupation is in one of the ‘Skills Occupation lists’. It is because it must be listed for the related visa types you want to apply for. 

Step-2 Check the list of required documents: 

You must submit the below-given documents for your ACS Australia skill assessment application. All these documents must be high-quality coloured scans of original documents. 

Step 3: Identity/Personal documents: 

Passport bio-page scan 

Resume/CV 

Proof of name change (if applicable) 

Priority Request application evidence (if applicable) 

Step-4 Qualification documents: 

Award/Degree certificate 

The qualification title

Name of University or Institution 

Date of when you completed your qualification 

Academic transcripts:  

Title of the qualification 

Name of University or Institution 

The date when you completed your qualification 

Subject names and grades or marks you obtained

Step-5 Employment documents necessary for ACS Skills Assessment: 

Employer reference letter

Start and finish dates of employment

Details of the duties you fulfilled 

The number of hours you worked per week 

Type of employment: Part-time or Full-time

The country where you worked 

An employer’s letterhead and signed by the authorized signatory with their name, job title and contact information. 

Evidence of payment: Payslips, Taxation Records, Back statements, insurance or superannuation records and so on.
