The Delhi Judicial Services (J.S.) is a state government recruitment scheme for qualified judicial officers in the Supreme Court, High Court and district courts of the state of Delhi. The principal secretary in-charge of law, justice and legislative affairs of the Delhi government is responsible for overseeing the J.S.
The Delhi District and Sessions Court was established in 2020 and is located at the court complex in Khetgarh. It has a total strength of 482 judicial officers including judges, registrars, assistant registrars, and court bailiffs. -The Delhi High Court has moved the Principal Secretary to increase the quota of Civil Judge (Senior Division) to 25% from 20%, totaling an increase of 12 from 96 to 121.
– The 103rd Amendment Act passed in 2019 amended Articles 15 and 16 of the Constitution and empowered the state to reserve 10% of higher-education admissions and government jobs on economic criteria or based on family income.
– The eligibility for LDCE promotion was the requirement of five years of qualifying service as a Civil Judge (Senior Division) and 10 years total qualifying as a Civil Judge (Junior Division). This means that candidates must have served as a judicial officer for at least 5 years, with at least 10 years of court experience, to qualify for promotion.
