Muay Thai Australia

My body is better than it has ever been with thanks to Muay Thai Australia. I had always considered myself pretty fit and used to go to the gym twice a week and a Pilates class once a week. I even dabbled in yoga. I loved it all but somehow I never quite got from fit to strong, or from slim to fabulous. I also found myself, and I am not knocking gym, Pilates or yoga, they are all fantastic, getting a bit bored with myself. I knew that I needed a new routine, a new type of exercise and a new environment. I guess this happens when we do one thing for too long and the stimulation dies. I had often walked past various Muay Thai gyms in Sydney and one day I decided to step inside and take a look for myself. I watched a session, I chatted to a few trainers, and I signed up for six one-on-one private classes. It may have been impulsive but I can be like that. And this is what I learned:-

Kickboxing was made for me

Kickboxing at a Muay Thai gym felt like it was made for me. Firstly, it is not just about kickboxing. The trainers are great and each session starts with a good stretch and some general cross training. And then the boxing begins and it is intense, focused, determined, exhausting, exhilarating and perfect. I started slowly as the trainer, and they take their jobs seriously, had to teach me how to stand, how to hold my arms, my core, my shoulders, everything, ensuring my safety before anything. Once I got it, wow! It is a short, brilliant work out and of course I signed up afterwards for monthly sessions. I still like my other exercise formats but Muay Thai Australia is totally for me!
