Recent  Government of India announcement on new eligibility and guidelines for Udyam Registration Portal for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Every business must register for GST  and file a tax return by March 31, 2021, to maintain the validity of the MSME certificate. 

According to revised government guidance, MSME is now under the registered name Udyam. For this, the following documents are now required for MSME registration. There are criteria to classify businesses as micro, small and medium enterprises and their registration on the Udyam portal. 

 Required Documents to Apply for Udyam  

  •  Applicant must have Pan 
  •  Card Applicant must have Aadhar Card 
  •  Full Postal Address with District and PIN 
  •  Applicant must provide bank account details 

New Guide to MSME Certificate Validity   

It is a must for every business to get GST registration. before March 31, 2021  The Company must receive the tax return by March 31, 2021, to maintain the validity of the MSME registration. 

  • In addition, PAN and GSTIN will be required for  MSME certification.
  • A number Aadhar will be needed to register Udyam. 
  • No company can file more than one Udyam registration 
  • Existing companies registered before  June 30, 2020, will remain valid until March 31, 2021. 
  • Companies with number Udyam registration must update information online at the Udyam registration portal, including  ITR and  GST return details for the previous financial year. 
  • However, the company’s failure to update the relevant information within the time specified on the Udyam online registration portal will result in the company being suspended from the status. 
  • Anyone who is unable to apply for Udyam application for any reason including lack of an Aadhar number can apply for any of the above one-stop systems for Udyam registration.
