PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania– Dynasty 11, a Philly-based entertainment studio, has announced they have begun initial testing for Player 2, a comprehensive “Gamer’s companion app,”  which will allow gamers to connect to form squads in their favorite online games, share player data, or provide community support. The app recently won the Drexel University Senior Showcase, earning an ongoing partnership in the development of the app. The app is currently in alpha testing and is expected to enter its beta phase by Q4 of 2022.

Dynasty 11, established in 2016, is focused on addressing gaming’s most notorious issue; toxicity between players. The 14-person team hopes to accomplish this by allowing players to more fully connect with other gamers behind the screen. Dynasty 11 believes that making any changes in the environment starts with them. It promotes inclusivity in the company, and it tries to avoid the toxic culture that can sometimes plague game developers by cultivating a healthy workplace. “Creatively, we function as a think tank, where ideas are built upon and refined until they reach their optimal form.”

A New App to Connect Gamers

Player 2 bills itself as a “Gamer’s companion app,” emphasizing the social aspect of gaming and helping players connect through several features. Compatibility Matchmaking allows gamers to connect with potential teammates with similar gaming interests and experience levels after filling out a quick survey on their preferences. Player 2 also hosts Playgrounds, its forum and chat service that allows gamers, developers, streamers, and media outlets to share advice, news, and other communications. Other features on the app, such as LFG (“Looking for Group,”) help users find teammates for immediate activities. Player 2’s homepage, called the Game Hub, is a page where players can scroll through their favorite gaming content. Player 2 also allows gamers to sync with their other gaming profiles to build their friends list, show off their gaming history and personality on their Player Card, increase their Player Level by completing milestones, and play built-in arcade games on the app.

Putting Philadelphia on the Map, With the Help of Drexel University

Dynasty 11 has held an ongoing partnership with Drexel University as a Corporate Sponsor in working on Player 2 since the project won the institution’s Senior Project Showcase. “Following this school year’s successful development of Player 2, the project culminated in the permanent hiring of three Drexel students to the Dynasty 11 Studios team,” Dynasty 11 says. “Our partnership will continue to grow next school year, with Dynasty 11 Studios sponsoring several Drexel student teams. – Our commitment to building our business in Philadelphia – embodying the characteristics that make Philly business unique, and helping to put Philly on the map as a growing hub of Video Game/App Development.”

Dynasty 11 Creative Director and CEO, Colin Johnson, is excited to unveil Player 2 to the public and show what the team can do. “As an entrepreneur, seeing Player 2 go to market will be immensely fulfilling,” Johnson says. “As a business owner, success means providing a rewarding workplace for and empowering the lives of my employees.” Johnson believes in collaboration and helping empower his team to do their best.

Player 2’s Future

While the project is due to be completed in the next year, Dynasty 11 is still taking investments from those seeking to get in on the ground floor. Player 2 is currently in the alpha stage of development and is projected to reach the public when they start beta testing by Q4 2022.

Dynasty 11 hopes to become a leader in this massive, highly lucrative, and still fairly young industry. As Dynasty 11 sees itself as an innovative, progressively minded company, they hope to address issues that have gained notoriety in the industry and help promote a more positive and inclusive culture in online gaming.
