Most clocks are digital, but a good old physical alarm clock is still used today to represent clocks. It is the variant that we will work on in this tutorial on how to draw a cartoon clock. At the end of these steps, you will have a fun and fascinating rendering of one of those classic alarm clocks.

How to Draw A Cartoon Clock

Step 1

We will draw the clock face in this first step of our cartoon clock drawing guide. It will be a simple circle, but while easy, it can still be challenging to remove, especially if done by hand. However, there are some tools you can use to make it easier for you. A drawing compass is best for this as it lets you quickly draw perfect circles. No matter what you use to remove this circle, once that’s done, we’re ready for step 2!

Step 2

After the face of this cartoon clock design has been drawn, in this next step, we will remove the frame around it. Again we will draw another simple circle and encircle the first one.

For this, you can use any method for the first circle, and if you use a drawing compass, it should be a breeze!

Step 3

We can now add another circular layer to the clock in this step, but there will be a slight difference to this one. The next one will also be a new outer layer instead of a perfect circle.

It will have plenty of space at the base. The reference image shows you what it should look like! We will clarify why it is empty as we proceed to the next steps.

Step 4

You’ll see why we left those spaces in the previous step when we move on to this fourth one! We’re creating an adorable design in this guide, and these feet will be a fun feature.

They are also reasonably easy to draw as they have a rounded shape, a slightly flatter base, and a slight edge. You can then connect them with another curved line to complete this step.

Step 5

This fifth step of our tutorial on drawing a cartoon clock focuses on removing the clock face, and we mean that literally! First, start by drawing a round nose. This one has pointy hands sticking out at an angle that makes it look like a mustache.

There is also a tiny smiling mouth underneath. Finally, we draw some outlines of the connected big round eyes. For students, you can use two ovals with black dots inside to complete this step.

Step 6

We will add some minor details to the cartoon clock design for this part. First, we’ll add a series of small circles to the outer edge of the watch face. Next, we draw the beginning of the two bells on the clock.

These are drawn as flat shapes that appear in the reference image. Once these shapes are removed, we’re done with the next step of the tutorial.

Step 7

We will finish the clock bells in this step of the tutorial. These are large and rounded, each with a small curved shape at the top. When they are drawn, you can end up with any extra details or ideas!
