Antivirus is a type of security program which protects your device from dangerous threats and malware. Showing down the system due to antivirus is a very debatable topic. Many people reported that their devices are starting to run slowing and responding lately after installing the antivirus. Like other programs, antivirus also has a system impact. When you install antivirus on your device, it will have some impact on your device. The system will slow down a bit depending on the antivirus setup and your device. Install a lightweight antivirus

  1. Go to the Windows Start button
  2. Type MSConfig on the search bar
  3. Press the enter button and the System configuration tool will appear
  4. Go to the Startup tab
  5. You will get a list of all the items to start automatically when you turn on the PC
  6. From the list, uncheck your antivirus and click on Apply button

Do not install multiple antivirus programs

People often install multiple security programs on the device. Multiple antiviruses won’t provide you with better security and may conflict with each other. Whenever they detect a new malware; your both antivirus programs will start conflicting with each other. Sometimes users upgrade to the premium plan but forget to uninstall the old setup. Always uninstall the previous setup and delete all the associated files and then install the new antivirus on your device. Delete the third-party programs

Third-party editing apps and gaming may start conflicting with your antivirus. Whenever you run those programs, the system will start responding lately and you may freeze from time to time.   1. Open your Windows 10 PC and click on the Start button
  2. Go to the Settings button
  3. Scroll down and choose Apps
  4. A list of all the installed programs will appear

Update your device and antivirus

The system can slow down due to outdated OS and programs. Whenever the device is running slowly, check for the new update. Always keep your Windows OS updated to the latest version. You can update your Windows OS by following the given steps:

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Go to the Settings page
  3. Click on the Update & Security tab

If the new update is available then it will start downloading on your device. After updating the OS, check your antivirus and other programs for a new update. Update all the programs on your device and your device will start working reliably.

Remove temp files and junk
