Canon Printer Error Code U043 is a common printer error that mostly appears due to damaged print-head. But there are other reasons also which can get you into U043 error. You can also get this error due to any cartridge or connection error. Once you find the reason then you can easily troubleshoot your error. Inspect all the possible ways of troubleshooting the error.

Check the Print-head

Whenever you see that 5B00 error restoring program for Canon printers; you should inspect your print-head immediately. Open the cartridge door and inspect the print-head. If your print-head gets damaged then you should replace the print-head immediately. If the print-head gets clogged then use the printer utility program for cleaning it. You can also clean the print-head manually. But cleaning the print-head manually may damage it. After using the utility program, give the print command. If your printer is still giving you the same error then ask the Canon technical team for help.

Check the cartridge 

If you are getting this error after installing a new cartridge then check your cartridge immediately. While installing the cartridges; if the contact pins are not connected properly then you will get the error message. Sometimes, third party cartridges do not fit inside the printer properly and result in an error. Make sure you have removed all the seals before inserting the cartridge. Check your ink cartridge and remove all the orange tapes from the contact pins. Now reinstall the cartridge and check for the error.

Check for paper jamming

Paper jamming can also lead to Canon U043 error. Paper jam appears when a chunk of paper gets stuck inside the printer which causes error in printing. Other than paper chucks, other junk or dust can also get you into paper jamming. You need to remove the junk which is causing the paper jam. Open the cartridge door and remove your Canon ink cartridge. Now check inside the printer. If you see any paper then remove it and clean the printer from a clean and dry cloth. Now check the roller of the printer. Sometimes these rollers draw multiple pages and create a jam. This issue mostly appears on DMPs. Now reinstall the cartridge on your Canon printer and give the print command.

Check for the printer connection

Inspect all connecting wires of your Canon printer. If your USB cable is loose then use another USB cable for connecting the printer. Make sure your USB cable is in working condition. If you are getting a Canon U043 error on your wireless Canon printer then place your printer near to the router. Check the ink level

If the driver files get corrupted then reinstall the Canon printer driver on your device and then try to take printouts.
