When you begin your journey towards body grooming and weight losing, it is always exciting on the first day, and very hard after 2 to 3 days, and at the end, wait, can we really finish?  If I am not wrong many of us set higher goals, perfect plans but that alarm tone is not enough to wake you up in the morning, and procrastination continues….

Ever thought, why can Virat Kohli wake up every morning and follow his morning routine, and why do people like us cannot? When I thought about it I got an answer and would like to share it with you all.

See, reducing weight, looking sexy and dashing, or impressing a crush were never his goals. His passion is cricket, and to be an excellent player, fitness is of utmost importance for him, it drives him strongly to be fit, to be energetic, to be aggressive for his game.

It is perfectly fine if you want to look good, attractive, and slim but these are not eternal goals that can drive you to wake up every and run. So, first, find some purpose, connect that purpose to your physical fitness.

For example, if you want to get rich then you must work hard, your mind needs to be sharp, focused and your body must support you for this, right? And to gain all these goals your physical fitness practices like running, breathing exercise, and other exercises are important. So, now you have a purpose, to fulfill that purpose you have to wake up and follow a routine.

Let’s see your goal is to lose weight, and the easiest way, you know to achieve this goal is to run some miles daily. The very first question you should ask yourself is, why do I want to lose weight? What is the reason? If your answers are superficial, then you will leave running somewhere in the middle of the journey because there is no purpose.

Connect running to something that drives you. If you can’t, think that when you will run, automatically you will feel light, more enthusiastic,  and believe even if you continue it for 3 days, it will take your self-esteem to another level, you will be satisfied not because you have run, but because you have done something consistently. So, first, ask yourself why am I running? And then start your journey it will be amazing! Do try it.

Okay! Now you have found your purpose. Here I have listed out some tips and tactics- that are proven and work great but the only condition is – Be consistent!

What changes happen in your body when you start running?

When you begin running, after 1-2 weeks your body starts adapting to changes, so the need of your body needs to change. These extreme movements and jumps affect the body so that metabolism activity occurs efficiently and rapidly.

Adaptations acquired by the body automatically enhances the ability of the body to burn fat as well as calories, so your body uses stored fat in your body to gain energy. After such high-intensity running, as you approach the evening you feel very tired.

You will be surprised to know that you will sleep without any extra effort and that will automatically eliminate your habit of midnight snacking. To be summarized, without doing extreme changes in your regular food you can burn a significant part of the fat in the first 2 months just by running 4-5 miles consistently.

Tip 1:

# Don’t set up extreme running goals or don’t change your regular diet for the first 20 workouts.

Now, when you are comfortable running, start focussing on your diet.

There is no such thing as a perfect diet. Know your body first, by spending some days experimenting on your food items. Now, set your diet plan suitable for your body.

Points to consider for deciding diet:

Avoid fried, baked, and exotic food items – Prefer half-cooked vegetables, boiled, and fresh food items.

Include raw food materials.

Include fruits and vegetables with high water content in daily food content.

Eat slowly – chew every bite finely and then pass it forward.

Drink plenty of water.

Avoid alcohol, as much as possible.

Note: In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, ensure that you’re wearing a face mask and use hand sanitizers regularly while working out.

Tip 2:

# After 2-3 weeks of beginning, consciously focus on your diet and everything you are intaking.

In the middle of your running journey, it becomes hard to be consistent, and that is the most deciding timing, whether you will continue or stop. So, this is the correct time for developing mindset practices. Start doing yogic practices, breathing exercises for increasing concentration power and your focus. It will help you to develop your mindset as well as continue your running routine.

Tip 3:

# Start doing yogic practices for extreme focus and concentration.

Now your body has gone through the transformation phase, your self-esteem is high now you know that you can adopt new changes easily. Now, you start noticing significant changes in your body, which are noticeable. So you feel confident and satisfied that you have been consistent.

Now start shifting your goals, it is time to set higher goals. Increase your speed, running distance, and running time. Take a high jump, and shift initial goals to higher goals. Track your progress with the help of technology, use apps, which track your process.
As you can run efficiently now, you can lose weight and can see significant changes in your body.

Tip 4:

# Track your goals for clarity.

Congratulations! You have reached the end of the first phase! Yes first phase because fitness can never end it is a never-ending process there is always something to improve, but now you are among that 5 percent, who achieve what they decide. So, my friend, it is a rewarding time.

Go get a tracking suite, branded shoes, or any fitness instrument. Buy anything related to running which will make you feel like – Yeah! I made it! Furthermore, you can participate in marathons arranged in your cities. You might win or not but it will surely help you to continue your running journey.

Tip 5:

# It’s a rewarding time! Reward yourself!

I know, it is easier to write than implement. Yet, you cannot deny the importance of taking action. Process and tips for everyone are very same but time, that cannot be decided, right? It depends totally upon your body type, willingness, and how hard you are wanting and above everything your purpose, it will decide whether you finish or remain stagnant. Some of you might not see results in the first month, some might notice it in 2 weeks only so don’t lose patience, have patience!

Tip 6

# Play 50-50 not 20-20 – be patient!
