Anushka Sharma was born in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh on 1 May 1988 and her age is 33 years. Her father Ajay Kumar Sharma is Colonel in the Indian Army and her mother Ashima Sharma is a homemaker. She has a brother named Karnesh Sharma who also served in the Merchant Navy and now owns a Film Production house Clean Slate Filmz along with Anushka Sharma. Anushka Sharma and her brother Karnesh Sharma have produced some top films which were loved by the audience.
In the past, Anushka Sharma has been linked with some of the Bollywood actors like Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor out of which some were rumors and some turned out to be true. But her relationship with Virat Kohli was a serious one and she was in a relationship with the Indian Captain for more than 5 years. PK was directed by famous director Rajkumar Hirani who is known for giving some of the biggest blockbusters ever in the form of PK, Sanju, 3 Idiots, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. etc. PK was jointly produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani.
This film was the only film she did with Aamir Khan and both of their performances were outstanding. Aamir Khan was doing the role of an alien who was accidentally left behind on earth by his spacecraft and Anushka Sharma was doing the role of a news reporter named Jaggu who was trying hard to send the Alien back to his planet. The film was made with a budget of under ₹90 crores but it was loved so much that it earned more than ₹800 crores worldwide. PK earned more than ₹300 crores in the Indian Box Office which made it an All-Time Blockbuster of Bollywood. The film got tied with controversies too when a FIR was lodged against the makers of the film for hurting Hindu sentiments.
Sultan (2016) with Salman Khan
Sultan was released in the year 2016 and it is one of the best sports films in Bollywood. Sultan was the first film of Anushka Sharma with Salman Khan and the only film as of now. Sultan can be said as the second biggest hit of Anushka Sharma’s career after PK in 2014. The film was directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Yash Chopra under his production house Yash Raj Films which is easily one of the biggest production houses of the country. Sultan was also the second biggest hit in Salman Khan’s career after Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015).
Sultan was a sports drama film and both Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma were playing the role of wrestlers in the movie. Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma had to go through immense training sessions to prepare for their role. Salman Khan played the role of a wrestler named Sultan Ali Khan and Anushka Sharma played the role of Aarfa Ali Khan, Sultan Ali Khan’s wife. Sultan’s budget was somewhere near ₹150 crores but it earned more than ₹700 crores internationally. The film earned more than ₹300 crores in the Indian box office which made it a blockbuster film.
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008) with Shahrukh Khan
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi was released in the year 2008 and it was the debut film for Anushka Sharma. Anushka Sharma made her debut with this film in 2008 when she was just 20 years old. The film was directed by Aditya Chopra and produced by Aditya Chopra and Yash Chopra under their production house Yash Raj Films. In this film, Anushka Sharma made her debut against Shahrukh Khan who is not only a Bollywood superstar but also known as a global icon.
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi had a different story than the rest of the Bollywood romantic movies. Anushka Sharma played the role of Taani Surinder Sahni, the wife of Surinder Sahni and Shahrukh Khan played the role of Surinder Sahni and Raj Kapoor. In this film, Shahrukh Khan played a double role of Surinder Sahni who was Anushka Sharma’s onscreen husband and Raj Kapoor who was Anushka Sharma’s dance partner. The film was the biggest hit of the year 2008 and established Anushka Sharma as a newcomer in the Bollywood Industry. The film was made with a budget of ₹35 crores and it successfully earned ₹160 crores which made it a blockbuster during that time.
Anushka Sharma later did many films with Shahrukh Khan like Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Jab Harry Met Sejal and Zero but by far Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi was her biggest hit with Shahrukh Khan till date. It is said that she has signed many other films with Shahrukh Khan which are to be released in the later days.
