Many light fixtures are designed in Victoria, so there are different types of lamps around. Decorative home lighting in Victoria are very popular.Major types of lamps or bulbs are commonly found in the lighting systems of homes, offices, factories, electrical devices, etc. The performance of a light fixture depends on the bulb we use. Different types of light bulbs produce different lighting effects.

Different Types of Lights or  Lamps in a Lighting system:

Incandescents

People are quite familiar with this type of bulb because it’s quite common. The incandescent bulbs come in a wide range of sizes and voltages. During electrical current passing through the tungsten filament within an incandescent bulb, heat is produced. A mixture of nitrogen gas or a vacuum is applied to the filament of this bulb. The bulbs are gradually being replaced with LEDs, fluorescent lamps, and other technology-based solutions.

Compact Fluorescent Lamps

Compact fluorescent lamps work like fluorescent bulbs. Mercury is present in it, which makes its disposal difficult. CFLs are intended to replace incandescent lamps. A CFL uses less power, produces the same amount of light, and lasts longer than an incandescent bulb. Compact fluorescent lamps typically have two or three tubular loops. Sometimes, they even look like incandescent bulbs. Bulk led downlights bulbs are available.

Halogen lamps

A halogen lamp contains a tungsten filament enclosed in a compact transparent envelope filled with inert gas and a small amount of halogen (bromine or iodine). Lamps of this type are smaller than conventional lamps. Halogen lamps are brighter and last longer. Halogen lamps have a luminous efficiency of about 25 lumens per watt.

Light Emitting Diode

Electronic components emit light when electrons move within a semiconductor device. LED lamps operate in a similar manner. The lamp is without a filament, it consumes less power, and it lasts a long time. The light produced by LEDs surpasses that of incandescent lamps and helps conserve energy in devices that consume them. LEDs are typically assembled into a light bulb to be used as LEDs in lighting systems. It is possible for these diodes to emit an intended color without using any color filters. LEDs are generally expensive, and they are used to build electronic projects because of their high initial cost.

Fluorescent Tube

The luminance of a fluorescent tube is between 45 and 100 lumens per watt. Fluorescent tubes use fluorescence to produce visible light. Compared with incandescent bulbs, fluorescent tubes use less energy for the same amount of light and are usually more complex and expensive. These tubes are cool in appearance and color, yet fluorescent lamps lack good color representation. Fluorescent lamps can be used in many places around a home, but dimming them is not feasible.

Low Pressure Sodium Lamps

The low-pressure sodium lamp is the first sodium lamp to offer the maximum efficiency of all the other lighting systems. It takes the lamp a short time to heat up and reach its full brightness. The lamp works much like fluorescent lamps. In areas such as roads, pathways, outdoors, and parking lots, when color is not that important, low-pressure sodium lamps are widely used.
