It is confirmed that Eric Church is returning to the stage in more than one form. The surviving member of The Mountain Church, Eric Church, will release a new album called “The Gather.” This will be his first release since the death of founding member Ericky Jackson. The single “We Built It” from The Gather will be released on Tuesday, May 8th. Here is a news release from The Voice International:

Eric Church will be returning to the microphone this spring as he tours across the country with a unique drum set and acoustic guitar. Guitarist/composer Jack Daniels was asked to be a permanent replacement for Church due to illness just before the recording of “The Gather.” Jack Daniels agreed to take on the task to ensure that Eric’s sound remains faithful to its roots as one of country music’s pioneers. Eric Church Cheap Tickets are available at Ticket2concert.

A picture of the completed acoustic guitar solo session can be seen in the background while Church sings “We Built It.” Jack Daniels explains, “Erick’s was inspired by Johnny Cash’s thunderous hit ‘rousing the chains from the broken down train deck.’ We took that particular song and ran it through a massive distortion pedal set to emulate what Cash was doing.” Daniels continued, “This set the tone for the rest of the record. It helped to create a raw, dark atmosphere for the album.”

Eric Church will be making two more releases from The Voice International. One will be entitled “The Gather.” And the other will be an album called “Out There.” Both will consist of music samples of songs recorded during Eric Church’s solo acoustic guitar career. Each will have its cover and will be available on limited quantity pre-orders.

“Out There” will consist of songs that were not heard on previous albums. According to Daniels, this is a chance to get back to some of the earliest material from Eric’s career. “Out There” will also contain demos of songs never played on previous albums. “We were able to get back to some of the stuff we were writing way back when,” he says. “I feel like we captured some of Eric’s unique sense of melody.”

Eric Church is just beginning to explore the sounds of acoustic guitar again. Daniels is looking forward to more collaborations with the man who started it all. “I would love to continue to work with Eric Church,” he says. “There’s a lot of great material out there.”
