Here we instruct you to adjust cabinet hinges to help you with these kitchen tasks. Unlike how to tune a cabinet with a damper, this process is easy, but at least you don’t have to worry about the hammer and screwdriver.

Soft hinge locks are a blessing in the kitchen, where they shouldn’t be too hard. The hinges ensure that the kitchen cabinet doors close quietly without making annoying noises. Apart from aligning the hinges, setting the hinge speed is also very important.

The following steps will help you adjust cabinet hinges so you don’t have to spend extra on hinge adjustment problems.

Note: Use a good quality screwdriver to align and tighten the screws.

Step 1: if there is a door without analogues, use a screwdriver to tighten the screws and adjust them. You can remove the screws if you are not satisfied with the orientation of the cabinet doors.

Step 2: There are separate screws to adjust the door up and down. If not, consider loosening the mounting screws on both hinges. Once you’ve brought the door to the desired height, you’ll need to re-tighten the screws.

Step 3: If the cabinet door is empty at the top, adjust the top and bottom hinges towards and away from the cabinet respectively. If you face down, you reverse the process.

Step 4: To adjust the hinge speed for a smooth closing, move the adjusting lever clockwise with the correct force. For larger doors with stronger hinges, you can turn the lever 90 degrees with a floor view. For hinges with adjustable tongue, you can use your fingers to pull the tabs in the right direction. The center of the hinge rises with a gray or silver piston, depending on the type of hinge.

Step 5: Once you’ve tightened the screws, it’s time to test the cabinet door hinges. If the door closes too quickly, try the adjustment mechanism by tightening the hinge weight adjustment. You may reconsider this type of adjustment until you are satisfied with the hinge speed.

If these steps are still difficult for you and you need help renovating your kitchen, consider hiring a knowledgeable kitchen supplier who can provide installation services.
