Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission issued the advertisement to recruit 67 vacancies for the post of Assistant Engineer. The screening test will be held on 24th August 2021 for Assistant Engineer (Electrical) and 19th September 2021 for Assistant Engineer (Civil). HPPSC AE Recruitment 2021: Exam Pattern
HPPSC AE Exam 2021 will be held in two stages; the Screening Test followed by the Personality Interview. Screening Test is an objective type paper with candidates need to score a maximum out of 100 marks within 120 minutes. For every incorrect answer, the candidate loses 1/4th mark. The candidates have to attempt 80 questions from the Technical Subject related to Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Engineering. Ten questions from General Knowledge of Himachal Pradesh and another ten questions from National and International Affairs.

- General Knowledge of Himachal Pradesh: The candidates need to be thorough with the History of HP, Geography, Art & Culture, Economy, Environment & Ecology, Rivers & their tributaries, and National Park/Wild Life sanctuaries of Himachal Pradesh.
- National and International Affairs: All the latest events happening at the National and International levels.
- Mechanical Engineering related Subject: It includes the topics such as Fluid Mechanics, Design of Machine Elements, Refrigeration & Air-conditioning, Turbo machinery, Differential Equations, Probability & Statistics, Tool Engineering, Theory of Machines, Calculus & Vector Calculus, and Metal casting.
- Civil Engineering related Subject: It includes the topics such as Hydrology & Water Resources Engineering, Bridge Engineering, Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering, Surveying, Reinforced Concrete Structures, Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering Materials and Construction, Fluid Mechanics, Estimation, Costing, and Specifications, Construction & Project Management, Environmental Engineering, Solid Mechanics, and Structural Analysis.
- Electrical Engineering related Subject: It includes the topics such as Switchgear & Protection, Distribution HT/LT Line parameters, Performance of line fault analysis, Functions of Capacitors & Reactors, Low Voltage constraint & resolution, Power engineering, Analysis of Dist.
