A student’s class 12 result is the most important factor when applying to college. It may seem daunting and unachievable, but with good preparation and a clear goal, it can be done.

The 12th grade is the most important year of school. This is where you’ll be applying to colleges, it’s time for SATs and ACTs, it’s when your social life peaks, and this is also when you make memories that will last a lifetime. With all these things happening in one year, it can be hard to keep up with everything. It all starts in class 11 so stay focused on what you need to do now so that your future self doesn’t have any regrets.

Tips to clear class 12 board exams easily :

  1. Make a timetable, it may seem tedious but this is the best way to study. If you try and fit everything in one day dreadful things like forgetting stuff can happen, so start early. Do not plan for more than 2 subjects each day (3 if you are really tidy!).Catch up on your timetable at weekends or during holiday periods by taking notes of anything that you missed or got wrong.

For an extra challenge mark down when you carry out which subject based on how long it takes you. This can help with planning for previous years exams as well! You could also use a timer to help break up your study time into small chunks rather than feeling bored and tired all the time and then giving up all the subjects at once. Always break your time schedule.

  1. Take short breaks between your study schedules –  it will refresh your brain for further study sessions.
  2. Get plenty of sleep every night – it’s good for the brain and helps you to retain more information.
  3. Get plenty of exercise during breaks between study schedules, which increases blood flow in the brain and helps you to focus on your studies better. Defeating stress is a must before exams begin – just take time off from stressful situations or activities as much as possible.
  4. Research shows that students who are relaxed do better than those who feel stressed! Prepare yourself psychologically before taking up important tasks such as studying for exams, by self-talking yourself into believing you can successfully task at hand. Don’t cram at the last minute; learn material well in advance so there is no need to rush through the material at the last moment.
  5. Don’t complicate things; if something is difficult to understand, break it down into smaller and simpler details. Take a short break in between studying sessions. You don’t have to study for hours on end without breaks. Relax your mind and body by doing simple breathing exercises or going for a light walk before you start studying again.
  6. Study wherever you are most comfortable – either at home or at the library. Some students find that certain environments are conducive to better concentration like avoiding places with too much sunlight (e.g., windows). If the noise level of the environment is distracting, just wear headphones while working to block out distractions (e.g., music).
