The PTE test scores are required to study in Australia.

What is the PTE? Why is it so important?

The PTE is the Pearson Test of English. EnglishWise, one of the most trusted PTE coaching institutes in Australia explained The Council of Europe, 2001 (CEFR) is the standard specification used to establish the language requirements at various levels of competency for the PTE Exam language specification. It is an academic online English language test designed for non-native English speakers who desire to study abroad. The test contains four different categories: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

All Australian universities and institutions require the PTE exam to demonstrate the applicant’s English ability. So if studying in Australia is your plan, this test is essential for you.

The best part is, depending on how high your score is, you can receive Australia’s residency within a year.

PTE and Australian Immigration

The PTE score is required when you enter into Australian immigration to apply for the Australian skilled immigration program.

At least 60 points are needed to apply. However, if you score below 60, there is still some hope for you. If your PTE score is over 50 but under 65, you can apply for Australian PR. Nevertheless, it isn’t the preferred route to go. Because the PR score doesn’t allow you any course focus, it is not for students aspiring to pursue a Master’s degree.

Here are three things to consider when examining your PTE for Australian immigration.

  •  A score of 79 and over is more recognized and gives you 20 PR
  • A score of 65 or more gives you 10 PR points
  • Any score over 50 in PTE gives zero PR points
