Studying a course abroad is one of the best experiences of life but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the year 2020 was quite different from every other year. The world came to standstill with everyone locked in their homes. The students who planned to study abroad had to defer their admissions or change their plans, but things are looking up in 2021. So, can we say students can study abroad in 2021? You bet they can! The governments of every country are doing their best to return society to normal in a safe way. Universities are also opening up so this is the best time to make a decision to go abroad for your future studies.

So, in this article, we have listed some points as to why you should consider heading overseas for a master’s or bachelor’s degree.

Explore other countries

One of the main reasons for you to study abroad is that it offers you an opportunity to explore different countries around the world. You get to visit new places and immerse yourself in the culture of the country you will study.

For instance, if you’re studying in Europe then you can enjoy the sunshine-filled beaches of Spain, see with your own eyes the worlds’ most famous artworks in Italy, discover several heritage sites and castles in the UK and Ireland.

It looks good on CV

In today’s job market experience of living internationally goes down well with employers. While studying abroad you learn various intangible skills such as experience dealing with people from different cultures, plus a higher level of adaptability. All these things will not only make you stand out from the crowd but also help you get ahead of other applicants on the international job market.

Meet people from different backgrounds

This is one of the most important reasons to study abroad because when you go abroad for studies you get to meet people from different countries and backgrounds. This will allow you to develop friendships with new people which may feel awkward at first, but it can lead to life-long friendships. Also, like this you get to network with like-minded people which helps in creating global connections that can be beneficial in future employment. For me, the biggest plus of making international friends is that I get to sleep on random couches around the world for free, when I travel to different countries.

Brush up on your language skills

Although I learned French for almost 4-5 years but after leaving school I could hardly remember any of it. This is because I never use it in my daily life but when I was studying in France it took me just a couple of weeks to brush up my language skills and speak as fluently as the locals. This helped me a lot in get along with people and also helped me in getting a job.

Self-reliance

This is the biggest concern most of us go through. We are so used to our comfortable lives in our home countries that it becomes difficult to move out of that comfort zone. But believe me it is not that difficult as you think. At first it will be difficult as you have to do all your chores yourself but this is what the entire experience about. It makes you self-reliant and kick start your experience of adult life. You starts budgeting your expenses, time-management and general life organisation.

So, I would recommend to study abroad at least once in your lifetime. It will be a whole lot of fun and learning when you will meet new people and make plenty of memories to cherish your whole life.
