Not to be outdone, coffee tables serve a functional purpose in space and add to the overall design of a well-designed area. These tables are ideal for filling in the space between sofas or in narrow hallways.

A console can make a great area for a vignette.

Your home should be filled with things you love, things that bring you joy and special memories.

These are some tips to help you select the perfect console table for your home and style it.

Tip 1: Use Unconventional

There are many sizes and shapes of consoles. You might try something unusual like a zebra hair-on-hide upholstered console. A little personalization can make a big difference in showcasing your style and personality.

You can choose a classic detail .This hair-on hide is also available in black, and it’s a little more manageable than the wild zebra print.

Tip 2: Go Skirted

The popularity of skirted tables is declining. For traditional rooms, round skirted tables were used to fill in corners and add beautiful trinkets. People use a floor lamp or plant to fill in empty corners.

What if we made a skirted console table a thing?

A skirted console table allows you to add beautiful fabric to your space, especially in a large area.

It could be any table, even if it’s been around for a while.

A well-tailored skirt is the best, just like this box pleat version. To keep decorations in place and protect the fabric from dirt and stains, be sure to add a piece of glass to the top.

Tip 3: Get the Unique

A console table can bring personality to a space and not what you style it with.

This is the one-of-a-kind piece we used for our client’s living area. The mathes console table and media center gave the room a heavier feel, which helped to heighten the ceilings and create a fresh white-on-white color scheme.

Tip 4: Choose a Console with Shelves.

You can add extra display space to your treasures by adding a shelf or two to a console. Although there was already a sideboard, it felt that it needed more. The console was just right! This console is perfect for filling this wall and allows you to display barware

Tip 5: Uses a Bar Cart

Because there wasn’t enough space in home, the small bar cart was being moved to storage. It was a clever idea that used it as a console near my entryway.

Although the space was small enough to fit a piece of furniture, it felt too large. This doorway was not used and could be used as a wall.

When we need to get to the storage under the stairs, the cart can be easily rolled away.

Tip 6: Skinny Hallways Deserve Console Love Too

Did I mention that consoles come in as many sizes and shapes? It feels spacious and open with its clean lines and glass top.

It will fit perfectly behind the closet door in this narrow hallway.

Tip 7: Get the Unique

A console table can bring personality to a space and not what you style it with.

This is the one-of-a-kind piece we used for our client’s living area. The mathes console table and media center gave the room a heavier feel, which helped to heighten the ceilings and create a fresh white-on-white color scheme.

The legs are made from iron, and the top is made of a thick slab of wood with wormholes.

Tip 8: Materials Matter

The room will feel more curate and personal if it has a variety of materials. This is the opposite of catalog decorating, which I discussed not too long ago

The materials were important in this neutral and modern room. The space was rich in texture and depth thanks to the various materials.

Tip 9: Additional Seating

A console with an open base is a great option if you have limited space or need to seat a lot and can bring additional seating in, even if they are just a few garden stools.

As long as the seating is well-planned and fits the space, there’s no need to have too many.

Tip 10: Styles Your Consoles

You can decorate the console in a variety of ways depending on its location in the room and the purpose of the room.

There are many ways to style your consoles. When choosing decorative pieces for your console, I believe the function should be first.

The layout is important; no matter what you add. You can hang art or mirrors above the console by placing them against a wall. Mirrors work well if the console is in an entryway.
