1. Gado Gado
Gado Gado is traditional Indonesian food suitable for every food, including vegetarian. Food, translated into “mix-mix,” is a mixture of various vegetables, tofu, and temper in peanut sauce. Sometimes served with krip crackers as snacks, or alone as sides or begging with rice.


2. Saté
Indonesian foods known in the West and similar to shallow shish. One consists of different types of meat which is roasted on carbon stones in bamboo skewer, and often fitted with peanut sauce. Meat may include chicken, beef, pig, tofu, and more. One is from Java and is the creation of Indonesian street vendors, but has spread throughout Indonesia and to neighbouring countries.


3. Kerak Telor
This dish is a crispy Indonesian “frittata” made with sticky rice, shrimp, coconut, shallots, and spices. Duck or eggs are usually added to food according to customer preference. Telor Kerak is one of the most popular street food in Jakarta, Indonesian capital, and comes from Betawi culture. The dish also is said to resemble the western omelet though its spice and crispness set it apart.


4. Rendang
Rendang berasal dari Pandang, sebuah kota di Sumatra, dan adalah salah satu piring paling lezat dan ikon Indonesia. It’s called “West Sumatran caramel beef carriage” by the cook and it’s called the world’s most delicious food by the international CNN reader. The food is made of beef, which is marinated, in a special carriage for an hour. The shed can also be served dry as a jerky soft, but this is only provided for special occasions.


5. Cendol
Cendol is a traditional Indonesian mouth-washing drink that’s not like what you’ve ever seen or felt before. It consists essentially of coconut milk, palm sugar, and shaved ice, and mixed with various kinds of jelly noodles. Nodel made of red beans, rice, or even grass jelly. Ice cream with durian and chocolate milk is also popular in Indonesia.


6. Bintang Bir Pilsner
If you’ve ever found yourself in Indonesia during the night out, you’ll definitely meet someone who drinks a star beer. A star means “star” in Indonesia, and a bottle of stars has a red star that remembers a classic bottle of Heineken. Besides, the taste of the star is said to be very similar to Heineken with the taste of malt and hop.
