Eligibility criteria:

Except for being exempt in very limited circumstances, you need to attain a positive assessment for Australian immigration. For that, fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

An AQF Bachelor Degree or higher-comparable qualification with an ICT Major

If having completed a course with an ICT Major closely related to the occupation, fulfill the below-given requirements:

Relevant experience of 2 years that you have earned within the past 10 years; or

Related experience of 4 years you attained anytime in your previous work history

If done a course with an ICT Major not closely related to the occupation, fulfill the below-given requirements:

Related experience of 4 years that you attained anytime in your previous work history

In possession of a qualification equivalent to an AQF Bachelor Degree or higher with an ICT Minor

If having completed a course with an ICT Minor closely relevant to the occupation, satisfy the following requirements:

Relevant work experience of five years you attained in the past 10 years, or

Related experience of 6 years you completed anytime in your previous work history

If completed a course with an ICT Minor not closely relevant to the occupation, satisfy the following requirements:

Related work experience of 6 years that you earned anytime in your previous work history

In possession of a qualification equivalent to an AQF Diploma or Vendor Certification

If did a course with an ICT Major closely related to the occupation, you must meet the following requirements:

5 years of relevant work experience you earned within the past 10 years, or

Related work experience of 6 years earned anytime in your previous work history

If done a course with an ICT Major not closely relevant to the ICT Security 262112 occupation, satisfy the requirements:

Related experience of six years that you earned anytime in your previous work history.

The Australian Computer Society also accepts prior learning (RPL).

If having an equal Non-ICT Qualification to an AQF Diploma or higher, satisfy the following requirements:

6 years of related work experience you earned anytime in your previous work history, and

Recognition of Prior Learning application

If without tertiary qualification but with work experience only, meet the following requirements:

8 years of related work experience, and

Recognition of Prior Learning Application

Remember: A prior learning application needs you to demonstrate the way you earned your IT knowledge. For demonstration, submit 2 Project Reports with an ACS RPL application.

The below-given Vendor Certifications are accepted as equivalent to AQF Diploma level qualifications:

Microsoft Certifications

Australian qualifications with recognition from ACS will have a bigger chance to fulfill the ICT Major Criteria. However, ACS will not evaluate it as being closely related to your chosen occupation. So, ensure the selection of the correct occupation.

ACS will count only employment you had after the date you have met the ACS Suitability Criteria as Skilled Employment. In simple words, it will not consider pre-qualification employment experience.

Personal documents:

  1. Passport or birth certificate:

By ACS, you need to submit a color scan of your passport. You need to submit the identification page of the passport. This page must have your name, address, and other necessary information.

  1. Name change proof document:

In the case of having changed your name recently, give a color scan of the document.

  1. Resume:

ACS asks you to upload your resume which goes in the personal section of the application form.

Qualification documents:

  1. Academic qualification:

Submit a clear color scan of your academic transcript and award certificate or complete letter for your Australian Qualifications. If having attached your Master’s qualification, provide a Bachelor’s qualification too. It’s a must for you to include the below-given details in your qualification documents:

  • Education Degree Title/Award.
  • University name from where you earned the degree.
  • List of course detail with the grades/marks attained for each unit or subject.
  • Your education degree completion date.

 

  1. Vendor Qualification:

For a Microsoft vendor qualification, provide the vendor login details for verification.

For the Cisco vendor qualification, the evaluation authority may ask you to submit your login credentials after the form submission. Attaching this file as a PDF file is acceptable.

Experience documents:

Provide ACS with a color scan of your work references on the respective company letterhead or a third-party statutory declaration.

Work experience document requirements:

  1. Your work experience must be with the employment start date and finish date. If you are still working, instead of the end date, write ‘To date’.
  2. All the duties and tasks you did in your work period must be in detail for the claimed occupation.
  3. The details on total worked hours per week. Besides that, mention if your job was part-time or full-time.
  4. The country where you worked. If you worked in the same country, mention the date and the location of the job.
  5. The letterhead of the organization must be signed by the author. This document must contain their name, the title of the position worked in, address, and contact number.

 

Statutory declaration requirements:

Third-party colleagues working at an executive level offer the statutory declaration. It must state that the document is witnessed before authorized people with the date and place of the declaration held. The third-party must mention the working relationship they have with you. Aside from that, they also need to mention the performed duties in the employment period with relevant dates.
