Carpool Ecstasy
I work in UFT in the student admin center but due to the expensive rent in the city, I decided to live with my parents in Ontario. Every morning I get to being in the same carpool with my high school classmate that works at YYZ International Airport. Our designated driver, a religious Jewish grandma who also owns a bakery store at Young Street and Eglinton often had to go extra miles to get us to our work places. She is extremely caring but she nags on almost everything around her existence, more than 10X what my mom would nags about me.
Anyway, on the good front, she would drop us off at work (very early) and pick us up after work (very late). During that time, we would ride to wherever we were going in her Cadillac and talk and laugh and bitch about things. It was a good way for me to take some edge off before and after work despite her grandma style nags.
Nagging For Love?!
As far as me and my high school classmate, we also had a great way to bond over our shared experiences as kids in the 80s during our carpool time. We would share stories about the 80s which was the best decade of our generation. We had the most freedom, the most money, the hottest and the skinniest women (almost) and we did not have a clue what to do with any of it. I think we were somewhat immune to the consequences of our actions because of that. She told me many stories about her childhood in Taiwan which I found very interesting. She has an amazing ability to see the humour in situations that others wouldn’t even think were funny. Like this one time she was visiting my hometown of Brampton and we went to the mall sitting and more chitchats about the world. She finally cracked the conversation about being nagged during the carpool yet we still have so much respect of the grandma who is so caring about us.
Finally, we both think there is something needs to be done. We decided to change the mood around in the car by applying Geranium Essential Oil all over us before we get on the carpool.
It’s Only Love
Not only does it smell great, it also seems to have a mood altering effect. Many people find it hard to focus when they are stressed out and it has a similar effect on them.
