Do you have a scar on your scalp that you would like to conceal?

If you have a scar on your scalp from a hair transplant or an accident, we can help camouflage it with Scalp Micropigmention (SMP) so that the finish looks seamless with the existing hair surrounding it.

SMP for surgical scars

Hair transplants are usually the most extreme form of hair restoration that people with hair loss will tend to try. They are considered severe due to the invasive nature of the surgery and the associated high cost. Many find themselves thinking of this option when they haven’t been able to find another effective solution.

For most people, their hair is a source of pride and confidence. Both men and women make daily efforts to keep them groomed as it is an integral part of our appearance. When your hair starts to fall out in unusual amounts, and you start to see a change in your hairline or scalp, it can be shocking. A doctor can typically determine the causes of hair loss, but treatments are often limited and ineffective. Transplants are helpful for those who suffer from localized hair loss. Hair follicles can be removed with many and added where there is loss.

In this treatment, there are two standard techniques.

Types of hair transplants

Follicular Unit Transplantation ( FUT), also known as Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT or FUSS) in English. It consists of extracting a strip of scalp where hair growth is strong and abundant. This is usually the back of the head. After the extraction, the part is sewn and closed. This strip is then cut into several small pieces to produce 500 to 2000 grafts.

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE): For this procedure, the surgeon shaves the back of the head and begins to remove the donor hair follicles one at a time. Many small dots will appear to have been pierced into the scalp.

Once the donor grafts are ready, the area with hair loss will be prepared. After cleaning and numbing the area, the surgeon will use a scalpel or needle to make incisions or holes. . A graft will be carefully placed in each incision until complete.

These types of hair transplants have become more refined over the years, as with many other cosmetic procedures. Unfortunately, it is impossible to predict how a patient’s scalp will react with even the most precise process. Some will heal beautifully, barely showing a mark, while others will have a pronounced scar that will be hard not to notice. Even with more prolonged hair present on either side of the spot, some scars are still visible. FUT scars tend to be the most visible. However, even FUE scars can be noticed against surrounding areas of hair that are more evenly dense.

How can micro hair pigmentation help you fade surgical scars on your skull?

Many surgeons and hair transplant clinics are now referring their patients for Scalp Micro Pigmentation (SMP). By implanting organic black ink into the scalp, SMP helps create the impression of natural hair follicles.

SMP is an effective hair loss solution that provides lasting results for up to 3-5 years before requiring a touchup. It is a virtually painless procedure and produces a natural-looking result to restore lost confidence.

For surgical scars, it helps even out the appearance of hair follicles on the back of the head for anyone who prefers a shorter cut. For those who maintain longer hair, SMP provides density coverage. This allows the scar to be covered, hiding the evidence that the person has undergone surgery. The same effect is reproduced whether the person has experienced a FUT or FUE type intervention.

The scar tissue may be pretty thick and not react to pigments as a normal scalp would. For regular treatments, clients can expect to have 3-4 sessions of 1-6 hours each. For cases of the surgical scarring, additional sessions may be necessary to guarantee the quality of the treatment result.

It is not only the scarred area that will be worked on. The surrounding areas will also be subject to SMP work to obtain a homogeneous natural appearance.

Please note that FUT/FUE scar coverage with Scalp Micropigmentation can only be done 8-12 months post-surgery to ensure wounds are fully healed both inside and outside.
