dress-up-for-summer

Summer is here, and you know what that means: scorching heat, sticky sidewalks, and the constant search for AC. But just because the temperature skyrockets doesn’t mean your style has to plummet! Dressing for summer can be a challenge, but we’ve got some tips for you.

To keep cool in the summer heat, try wearing clothes made out of breathable fabrics such as cotton or linen. Breathable fabrics will keep you comfortable during those steamy days and nights.

To stay on-trend this season, try wearing flowy dresses with floral prints or denim shorts. These styles are great for keeping cool while looking good at the same time! You can also pair them with a casual t-shirt or tank top to complete your outfit.

This summer, don’t shy away from going sleeveless. Look out for dresses with handkerchief hems or asymmetrical hems as they add movement to your outfit and will help keep you cool when temperature rises. Often we get caught up in wanting to wear brighter colors during warmer months but also consider pastel shades, light hues, white and neutrals. Not only do they bring some freshness to your outfit, but they also make you look chic without even trying.

Here are some easy summer outfit ideas that will keep you cool and looking cute in the summer heat!

DRESSES – Short or long, maxi dresses are the easiest thing in the world to throw on. They cover a multitude of sins (read: they hide bumps), they’re comfy as heck and they look way more put-together than shorts and a shirt. If you’re heading somewhere fancy this season, just grab a cute clutch, add some sparkly jewelry and call it a day. Easy peasy!

CHIC AND COMFORTABLE – A breezy midi dress paired with a straw hat and espadrilles will get you through a backyard BBQ without breaking a sweat. Just don’t forget to pack some extra water—you’re sure to need it!

FUN IN THE SUN – If you’re heading out for a day in the sun, grab your favorite bikini, some denim shorts, and a pair of cat-eye sunglasses. You’ll not only look cute lounging by the pool or playing beach volleyball; you’ll also stay protected from harmful sun rays. SPF on your face is non-negotiable!

ROMPERS – Rompers have become one of my favorite go-to outfits in the summer – they’re almost as easy as throwing on a dress, but way cooler. You can wear them with heels for a night out or sneakers during the day. And rompers will keep you feeling breezy even if  you are under scorching sun.
