Follow a theme when you have a dress up costume. A school girl costume would be great if the theme is school, and you may just have your old school girl costume all lined up in your wardrobe. If the theme is superheroes, you have a whole lot of superheroes to choose from, although you might not have these in your wardrobe already. Your child would have them though, so you could try squeeze, haha, into one of theirs. And if the theme is the seventies decade, well, that one is easy. A pair of flared trousers or jeans, a tie and dye tee shirt, a few strings of beads, rose tinted sunglasses, a head band, and hey man, you’re ready. Whatever the theme is, put your heart into it. Make or buy a costume and really have fun with it.
Adult dress up parties
An adult will often throw a dress up party, and one can buy costumes online, because they know this kind of party is going to be a success. Adults love to dress up. It is time to shed their inhibitions and rally get into the spirit of things. If you are throwing an adult dress up party, and perhaps the theme is school, then use the theme in all aspects of the party. You could be the head teacher. You could have cup cakes in the theme of a library. There could be a naughty corner for when anyone misbehaves. The decor could be school themed decor. There are lots of options, of course it does not have to be a school theme, it can be any theme you choose. But send out the invites and tell people the theme so they have time to make or buy their dress up costumes. And they have time to buy you the right kind of gift too.
KId’s dress up parties
Children love to dress up and they love to throw a dress up party too. Choose the theme carefully with your child, bearing in mind it must be a theme that they are passionate about, but that their friends will really enjoy too. Talk about the dress up costumes, the party games, the party food, the decor, the music and the farewell gifts too. Involve your child as much as possible, from the baking to the decor to the games to the costume. They’ll have so much fun this way, and so will you. Send out the invites early to avoid disappointment. Hopefully everybody can attend the party.
Buying or making a costume
This is the age old discussion. Is it best to make a dress up costume or is it okay to buy a dress up costume. We think both work out, depending on you. If you have time to make a costume, and have all the materials and sewing machine, go for it. But if you work hard, don’t have time or inclination to sew, of course you can buy. A school girl costume is easy to buy online and so much fun.
