Why Write a Resignation Letter?

As a courtesy to the company, you should submit a resignation letter upon leaving your position. This formal resignation letter informs your employer that you are leaving the position and provides a formal notice period.

It also alerts the manager to the need for a successor to assume the duties and obligations of the position. Be professional and give your employer adequate notice before leaving for a new position.

3 Step Sample Resignation Letter Example Template

Professional resignation letters don’t need to be creative or elaborate. Simply ensure that they are worded professionally. You want to quit your work as gracefully as you can. It’s best to end on a high note if at all feasible.

You’ll almost certainly speak with your manager at an exit interview when you decide to leave your job. If you desire, now is an excellent moment to discuss your motives for leaving.
