Maxus: Chinese electric vehicles arrive in Belgium

The Chinese brand Maxus van is being added to the portfolio of the Belgian company Alcomotive, which is already an authorized importer of many manufacturers, including Hyundai. a company that specializes in electric vans.

The European market for the distribution of cars and motorcycles has seen significant growth thanks to the Belgian business Alcomotive, a division of the Alcoa holding company. In reality, this organization distributes 84,000 automobiles from 11 different brands each year in eight different European nations. Alcomotive’s brand portfolio now includes Maxus as a twelfth brand. a brand that the Belgian company will introduce in Luxembourg, Switzerland, and Belgium.

SAIC

The Maxus brand is a component of the huge Chinese automaker SAIC, which is still unknown to us (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation). The largest automotive firm in the Chinese market, this business also owns the car brands Roewe (previously Rover) and MG. With 7.05 million vehicles sold in 2018, SAIC is the 7th-largest manufacturer in the world | cars derry.

Electric vans

Maxus offers a line of electric vans. As a first step, interested customers can already order the EV80. It is a large utility vehicle that poses as a competitor to the Volkswagen e-Crafter. Its maximum payload is 950 kg. As for autonomy, it depends on the version chosen, but it can reach 192 km (according to the old NEDC certification cycle) thanks to its 56 kWh lithium-ion phosphate battery. The EV80 is equipped with a 136 hp and 310 Nm electric motor. Its top speed is electronically limited to 100 km/h. Its price is €54,990 excluding VAT.

30 and 90 approaching

After the launch of this EV80, Maxus will offer us two other electric vans: the EV30 and the EV90. Available in March 2020, the EV30 comes in the form of a compact van. This model will exist with a long or short wheelbase. On the battery side, the customer will have the choice between a capacity of 35 (220 km of NEDC autonomy) or 52.5 kWh (300 km NEDC). The large EV90 van is expected for the month of June 2020. It will then offer a useful volume of up to 11 m³. The Chinese manufacturer will offer on this large model the choice between a 52 kWh (200 km NEDC) or 73 kWh (260 km NEDC) battery.

These 5 models will officially be ancestors in 2023

The production of these models started in 1993, which means that the first examples will therefore be able to take advantage of the advantages of an “O” plate in 2023.

Coupes, convertibles, and a small city car… so there’s something for everyone, but all these cars for sale in derry have a story and deserve their place in the garage of an avid collector. One of these models is also much sportier than the others!

1. Porsche 911 (993)

The Porsche 911 is a great must-have. And this 993 is the latest generation to stay true to the traditional 911 concept, namely with an air-cooled flat 6-cylinder in a rear overhang. The next generation, the 996, was indeed the first to feature a water-cooled block, which angered some purists of the time (not to mention the odd headlights of that generation).

So, as the ultimate air-cooled 911, the 993 holds a special place in the hearts of Porsche enthusiasts. Therefore, these models remain expensive. And there is good reason to believe that these high prices will continue since the first models can take advantage of an O plate. The good news is that you are bound to find a model that suits you, given the multitude of releases!

2. Fiat Coupe

The Fiat Coupé was presented for the first time at the Brussels Motor Show in 1993. Together with the Alfa Romeo 916 GTV (also presented in 1993 but whose series production only really started in 1995), it is the example type of what an Italian coupe of the 90s should look like… We regret, however, the front-wheel drive!

The design of this model is the work of none other than… Chris Bangle, the author of some very controversial BMWs… Built by Pininfarina (who also took care of the very personal interior style), this Fiat Coupé finally earns its letters of nobility, with its very personal lines, its aluminum fuel filler flap, its headlights placed on the hood, and its round taillights recessed in the trunk. However, finding a nice example is no small feat, especially with the brilliant 220bhp 2-liter 5-cylinder Turbo.

3. Toyota Supra (4th generation)

The Toyota Supra is back, but the most iconic generation in history is the fourth, launched in 1993. It was distinguished by its more rounded body, outer spoiler, and powerful engines, including the famous 2JZ- GTE, a 3-liter twin-turbo 6-cylinder developing 330 hp (from the factory) and capable of catapulting the Supra to 100 km/h in less than 5 seconds.

The block was also very easy to muscle: many preparers thus obtained more than double the original power! This icon of “JDM” culture also starred in “Fast and the Furious”. Do you want an unmodified copy that conforms to when it left the factory? Good luck!

4. Wiesmann MF 3 Roadster

This hand-assembled sports car is the exception to this list. The MF3 was powered by the iconic 3.2-liter straight-6 from the BMW M3. With 343 hp and a maximum torque of 365 Nm, it offered a power-to-weight ratio of 3.44 kg/hp to the MF3 roadster, allowing a 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 255 km. /h!

The reduced mass and the high rigidity of the body ensured exceptional behavior! The MF3 was produced for 18 years: despite its retro lines, it therefore still seems very modern… In addition, its general look will soon be found on Project Thunderball, the electric resurrection of the brand that disappeared in 2013. It will however be difficult to find an MF 3 because the examples are cherished by their owners and rarely for sale.

5. Renault Twingo

Are you looking for something original and practical and don’t care about crazy performances? Then the first generation of the Renault Twingo is for you! Marketed for the first time in 1993, it will therefore officially benefit from the status of a classic car from next year.

Succeeding both the iconic Renault 4 and the basic versions of the no less iconic Renault 5, the Twingo, with its mono-volume body, was revolutionary in its time. At launch, only one trim level, an outdated engine, and only four colors were available. This basic Twingo nonetheless exuded an incredible joie de vivre, especially when equipped with the huge sunroof
