About 8 years ago, when I bought a compact sedan, I had very few choices available in the category. And the available ones were with limited features, with a technology that seemed dated even in those days and above all, did not inspire any confidence when it came to safety!

But not anymore! Recently when I upgraded to Renault Kiger, it fulfilled all my desires. Two years ago, when I first saw Renault Kiger show car, I felt that there was something special about this car. Since then, I had been waiting eagerly to see the actual Kiger on the road.

Recently when I got a raise along with a performance bonus, I decided to gift myself a Renault Kiger. Though I had already seen the car on the road many times and had even finalized the car in my mind, I still decided to go for a test drive.

They sent a white Kiger as a test drive vehicle. As I walked closer to the car, I decided that I would not get swayed by my heart which was already sold on the white Kiger! I decided to evaluate the car thoroughly, without any bias.

As I observed Renault Kiger from a distance, I saw an SUV that was designed to impress. I felt that the sporty, smart and stunning look of Renault Kiger could not be ignored. I liked the tri-octa pure vision LED headlamps with LED DRLs, the diamond alloy wheels, the C-shaped LED tail lamps and the front skid plate which gave Kiger its distinctive appeal.

Then I got into the driver’s seat. This was the first instance when I was seeing the car from inside.  I noticed the spacious interiors of the car which had loads of room, not just for the passengers to lounge, but also for keeping knickknacks and cargo too! Kiger had 29L of space designed to keep your travel essentials and a huge cargo space of 405L which could even be expanded to 879L by folding the rear seats.

Unlike a backlit instrument cluster, Kiger had a 17.78 cm reconfigurable TFT cluster which was crystal clear to read followed by a sleek steering wheel which had mounted controls on it. Kiger even had a 20.32 cm floating display that brought almost all controls to your fingertips!

Unlike my manual transmission sedan, this time I was convinced that I would be going for an AMT. Hence even the test car that I asked for was a Renault Kiger AMT. I did feel a bit odd for the first couple of minutes, but soon I felt at home with the AMT. I felt super smooth but absolutely in control when I drove the car.

Towards the end of the test drive, I was convinced that my heart was right! I finally asked about the price tag and maintenance cost of Kiger. I was pleasantly surprised that Renault Kiger’s price started at just Rs. 5.99 lakh* (Ex. Showroom Delhi) while the maintenance cost was as low as 40 paisa/km*.

The representative then told me about Kiger’s 4-star Global NCAP safety rating. It meant that the Kiger was not just good-looking but was safe too for all its occupants! These details finally helped me seal the deal for my Renault Kiger and I was soon completing the paperwork.

Today, after months of driving Renault Kiger, I felt that I had taken the right decision. Infact, in hindsight, I think I should have taken this decision after the last appraisal itself, at least I would have enjoyed Kiger one year earlier then!
