As the issue of global warming has hounded the world for many years now, many large-scale measures have been taken and adopted in many countries to curb this problem and minimize its impact on mankind. People have resorted to ecologically-centered lifestyles in the hope of contributing to the efforts to save the environment.

In all these efforts, the electric bike has emerged to become a widely-preferred alternative to the conventional petroleum-powered transport vehicles to significantly bring carbon emissions to as low as possible.

The ebike is finding its way into the homes of many people and is getting wide acceptance by many more. Although some countries have rules that regulate these types of motorized vehicles, most places treat electric bicycles as typical bicycles with no controlling laws.

The first electric bike has seen a lot of revisions, upgrading, and development. Current models have more sophisticated designs and improved features. One of these is the use of ultra-light batteries which makes the vehicle super-light itself resulting in better mobility as well as fuel economy. Some manufacturers have even come up with Do-It- Some manufacturers have even come up with diy electric mountain bike kits that can be assembled in the home using simple tools and procedures.

The electric bike is not only versatile but also practical. There are a lot of things you can do with it:

  • By using your ebike when making short trips to the supermarket or drugstore, you are reducing the number of pollutants in the air.
  • Finding a parking space for an electric bicycle is far more convenient than a car. This eliminates the stress that could lead to other complications.
  • You can try to find a shortcut or a road that is more eco-friendly and use it often when going to work or other destinations. You can have plenty of fresh air and a more enjoyable ride.
  • Using an electric bike not only saves you cash on gasoline but also keeps you fit and enables you to lose weight each time you go to the grocery store or video shop.
  • An electric bicycle can help you reach your destination more quickly even in tight traffic. It is also easier to use shortcuts and alternative routes with a smaller and lighter vehicle.
  • The savings you make with an electric bike can be realized in the long term. Try to compute how much fuel you will use in a day as against its cost and add to that the costs of repairs and maintenance, parking, and registration fees. You will be surprised how much money you will save over some time.

Parking Problems? Not With an Electric Bike!

circling the block for that perfect parking spot? And then worrying about the parking meter running out when you are running errands downtown that is taking longer than expected. Well, the cool thing about an electric bike (and regular bike) is the ability to pull up and park as close as possible to where you are going. Oh yeah, and it’s free to park your electric bike!

Parking a bicycle is so much easier than parking a car. It is nice to be able to pull up to where you are going and find the nearest bike rack or tree and lock your bike to it and you don’t need to worry about how to store a bicycle outside. That’s it. Done:)

Parking a car on the other hand can be a frustrating experience. Circling the block or parking lot for that perfect spot that is as close to the store you are going to is frustrating! Finding that perfect spot is also time-consuming. When you consider some of the time you may have saved driving somewhere, it is usually lost while trying to find that parking spot.

Parking an electric bike is free! That’s about all there is to say on that. As a comparison consider how much you pay to park your car daily. In cities that can be a significant chunk of money every month. Just saving money on parking your car for a few months (not to mention gas and maintenance) could easily equal the cost of an electric bike.

Valet bike parking? That’s right there is such a thing! And it’s not your typical valet parking at a fancy hotel or restaurant. That is a funny image though…. imagine rolling up amongst the high rollers in their Mercedes Benz and BMW and giving the parking attendant your ebike and keys! Anyways back to it.

Bicycle valet parking is usually held at large events like music shows, outdoor markets, and other large gatherings. Bicycle valet parking is usually a large secure area where you give your bike to an attendant and they give you a ticket that is associated with your bike. When you are ready to go you simply give the ticket back to the attendant and they give you your bike back. The valet parking is usually free and is put on by a local bicycle club. It’s a convenient way to securely store all the bikes in one place at a large event. It’s also great to see how many bikes can be parked in an area that only a few cars could be parked in!

What about theft? Just like people breaking into your car there can be issues with people trying to steal your electric bike. My advice is to get a good lock to secure the frame and wheels of your bike and park your bike in an area where there are a lot of people. It’s difficult to steal a bike when there are a lot of people around. Another tip is to use a bolt to secure your seat post instead of a quick release. That makes it more difficult to steal your seat and seat post. Ask your local bike shop about this if you are not sure what that means.

To sum it all up parking an electric bike is easy, free, and can be a lot less frustrating than parking a car.
